Smokey Mountain National Park is a gorgeous place to hike in the spring before the crowds arrive. A wonderful place to stay is the Buckhorn Inn. We have had many nice visits. We've tried inn rooms, cabins and houses. Most of the accomodations are a little outdated, but we still enjoy it because of the friendly people, good food and pretty scenery.
