We were first allocated to the Lake McDonald Motor Inn rooms. These rooms were so old, dark and overpriced that we could not stay overthere for 15 minutes. As such, we asked for a room in the main lodge. This room was nice.

Let me start by saying this review is of a cabin, not of a room inside the lodge. I've stayed at many different cabins, both in National Parks and other places, and most have been fabulous. Cabins do not have to be sparse or small, many are very well-appointed, and often are better than hotel rooms.
