Want to sleep well, really enjoy a lovely tree shaded Victorian neighborhood, and be hosted grandly? Well then stay at Loralei. From the minute you walk in the door, sense the welcoming ambiance of the home, and are warmly greeted by your host, Robert, you will be happy you are calling this your home away from home. We've stayed at... More

We absolutely loved the place. Clean, comfortable, tastefully decorated and respectful of privacy. Our host Robert was very keen to share valuable informations on local attractions and tips for visiting NYC. We found it really easy to travel wherever we wanted to go at any time. The 5 mins walk to the train station is easy and full of interesting... More

Want to visit NYC? Then the best place to stay you'll find is the Loralei B&B in Brooklyn! The neighbourhood is just wonderful and the Q train takes you in just a few minutes to Manhattan. The house is very beautiful and well kept, the same with the rooms. They are nice decorated and comfortable. Also the breakfast is great.... More

The Loralei is a very clean, very convenient, older home in Brooklyn located on a mostly quiet street (the birds sang pretty loudly) situated 3 or 4 blocks from a main subway stop (some trains do not stop at all stops-this is a main stop). There is limited off-street, driveway parking. (The experience described by Vel122 had the same "feel"... More

We stayed in this bed and breakfast for four days. The welcome was very pleasant. We got a bottle of water and an explanation about the b&b and the neighbourhood. The room we had (Gramercy) is really big and nicely decorated. The breakfast can compete with a five star hotel. The main reason in the first place to choose this... More

Stayed in this property in December 2010 I was so lucky to find this little gem after months of research on the internet. For a reasonable $150 per night this is probably one of the nicest places you will find in New York City for this price. The property is located in a quite neighbourhood in Brooklyn and it's about... I've stayed at the Loralei a few times a year for about 5 years or so. I have business in Brooklyn and Manhattan so it's a great location for me. I get to park my car in the driveway and take the subway into Manhattan! So much easier than driving into the city. I was there again in late January... More

We stayed at the Loralei for 5 days whilst in NY for our daughter's wedding. The B&B is beautiful old house, very well kept with lots of interesting furniture and made a great backdrop for pictures. Robert is an perfect host and served up a great breakfast every morning and helped us out when we needed to order things like... More

We probably saw Brooklyn and the Loralei at their worst. The January weather was mild but grey and wet. This was compounded by our general aversion to B&Bs and their bonhomie. So, before Robert says it, we must confess that we would have been happier in a rented apartment or an anonymous hotel. The problem is that having always stayed... More

I've been a hotel general manager for 30 years and I must say that I have never had a more pleasant stay than my recent visit to the Loralei. My wife and I enjoyed the extra space provided in the Sutton Suite including a large, well lite bathroom with tub and shower. Housekeeping was excellent with bed linens changed every... More
