We stayed at an apartment though Smartapartments late last year. The apartment was filthy, bed bugs, rats and unhygenic! we have not and im sure wil not ever recieve our deposit of $500 back. Smartapartments have been sued by NYC. Stay away!

We used smart apartments to find a place in NYC last august, 2012. Long story how I found them, but ended up talking to one of their CSR's and he helped me choose a two bedroom place at 79 Clinton in the LES. Very friendly and very helpful. ... there was nothing wrong with the apartment or the location however, they have not followed their part of the contract and have failed to refund my $500 security deposit - same as the many other reviews on this page.

We stayed at the Metropolitan Avenue apartment Xmas 2011 and again this Xmas. All went well last year, but I'm afraid to say that it's been a month and we have not received our $500 security deposit. Too bad, as we planned to go again and stay at this location while visiting our daughter in Brooklyn.
