I have stayed in the Garden Suite and the Parlor Suite and both are lovely. The garden suite is a little cozier in terms of its decor, whereas the Parlor is more modern in feel. Both have a queen sized bed and a twin bed, but the Garden Suite's twin has its own adorable little room, whereas in the Parlor... More

The Sofia Inn's location is right off Vanderbilt Ave in Prospect Heights, close to a supermarket, drug store and some great restaurants. All the amenities are close by and the subway station is only a block away, giving travelers easy access to Manhattan. We stayed in the parlor suite, right on the first floor, with a beautifully appointed sitting room... More

As a lone female traveller, the Sofia Inn was perfect for me. It was in a great neighbourhood (Prospect Heights), a quiet and pretty area with lovely streets and an amazing museum, fantastic park, botanic gardens and an enormous public library just half a kilometre away, and the lovely Park Slope area on the other side of Flatbush Avenue. The... More

We just returned from a 5 day trip to Brooklyn and spent 4 nights at the Sofia Inn. Our party consisted of 3 adults and we stayed in the Parlour Suite. It was a perfect fit for us. The queen bed was very comfy. I believe the other rooms were occupied when we were there but we rarely heard any... More

A very disturbing incident occurred with the proprietor of the Sofia Inn when we stayed there. I had to call the police for assistance. After we checked out and were walking down the block, he ran after us in the street and demanded an additional $90. (I had paid him the remainder of my bill in cash and gotten a... More

We follow guests to the street for two reasons only--if they have forgotten something (a phone charger, for example) or they have not paid the balance on their bill. Because virtually all guests at the Sofia Inn have been friendly and honest, we have, in the history of the existence of this inn, followed a guest to the sidewalk for... More

We were there at the end of October. Stayed in the Garden Suite which looked nothing like the pictures on their website. The building itself had nothing on it to indicate that it was a bed and breakfast and when we rang the doorbell some guy answered the door with a phone to his ear and said he couldn't talk... More

This is our second time in the Garden Suite at the Sophia Inn so the establishment held no upfront surprises. Our rooms were on the lowest floor in which rooms are let, and was complete with a front parlor (with air conditioner), a generous middle bedroom (with obligatory TV), a largish kitchen/eating area, compact but not tiny toilet/ shower tub... We stayed in the parlor suite with our 2 children. We thought there would be a separate room for the children's beds, and we were all in one long and very dark room; the lighting in the suite is extremely poor. The room was cluttered and worn; the floor and the walls need refinishing. There was a nice little kitchenette.... More

This place was a great little retreat in Brooklyn. We were headed to Brooklyn for the weekend for my cousin's wedding (he was getting married at the Picnic House at Prospect Park) so this was a great close-by, affordable option for us. The street (and surrounding neighborhood) was beautiful. We stayed in the North Room on the top floor. We... More

Really enjoyed our stay at The Sofia Inn. Nice to have a few separate rooms to spend time in - unlike being in a one-room hotel. The bathroom is teeny, tiny, but certainly met our needs. Being an interior accommodation, there weren't many windows in The Garden Room, so it was a bit dark but there were ample lights. Appreciated... More
