We stayed here during the Texas Star Party and it was perfect. It was the best of both worlds. We went to and set up at Prude Ranch the first night, but it was so crowded that we pulled up our stakes and used the private Mountain Trails Lodge concrete observing pad for the rest of the trip (which was... We had a wonderful time in our two day stay at the Mountain Trails Lodge. We were in a group and the Management went above and beyond to made our stay wonderful. We hope to stay there again. We were in a group of 14 people, and we played Dominoes in the Day room for a long time and was... More

This is a great place to stay. It is competitive for the budget minded. It has a cozy atmosphere, with the only complaint being the bathrooms are small. The owners are friendly and accommodating. Great breakfast too. (Included) This is my second time staying here, and I will return.

I used to work at a luxury hotel chain that prides itself on excellent customer service, and the family running Mountain Trails Lodge were some of the friendliest, most gracious hosts I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. Fort Davis should be proud to call these folks their own. My Dad and I took a trip out to Fort Davis... More

We had a marvelous time during our stay at the Mountain Trails Lodge. Our room was perfect for our needs and the breakfasts were a delight but best of all was the local knowledge and recommendations by Scott and Jenny. We thought we'd read enough beforehand to know what to see in the area but their insight and perspective opened... More

The whole experience was excellent. The food was outstanding. The owners helpful and courteous. The room had everything we needed. It was comfortable and clean. Two easy chairs felt good after a long day. A ramp was provided for my wheelchair. Would love to go back for a week!

This lodge is run by very accommodating owners who made us feel exceptionally welcome. They offered good advice on the areas and area attractions. They welcomed us each morning with a large, satisfying breakfast and made us feel really welcome. The location was very nice, overlooking the prairie and neighboring cemetery. The bedroom was nice and comfortable. The bathroom was... More

My 2 kids and I were on a whirlwind tour of Texas over Spring Break (San Antonio, Fort Davis, Dallas in 4 nights). The trip to Fort Davis and the stay at Jenny and Scott's Lodge were definitely a highpoint. Both were very welcoming. The cabins were clean, comfy, and peaceful. The fresh mountain air thru the windows at night,... More

The cabins are comfortable, cozy, clean and tranquil. We enjoyed the view of the mountains from our porch, and the easy access to all the area has to offer. Jenny is a font of info about the region, and a terrific hostess. Breakfasts are spectacular. This is really a special place. We stayed here for three nights to visit Marfa... More

We originally only planned to stay two nights with Jenny and Scott at Mountain Trails Lodge, and ended up staying for five. That right there says something. My initial phone contact with Jenny was beyond fantastic- she happily booked our stay and went above and beyond to answer the questions I had about the Davis Mountains/Fort Davis/Marfa/Alpine area. I'm a... More
