We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 nights at Doubleday Inn which is a very comfortable, clean B & B right on the Battlefield! There was a talk by an historian which was very informative and we found the whole experience quite amazing and moving! Todd & Christine are very helpful hosts and Gettysburg itself is a lovely little town. This is... More

We stayed at the Doubleday for the second time and enjoyed it once again. Our room - Iverson - was spacious with windows overlooking the battlefield in three directions. The inn is on the battlefield and is perfect for long walks. It is a short drive to downtown and restaurants, museums, etc. We prefer to stay here rather than intown.... More

I decided to write this review after reading several of the ones that you might see below. And it brought back some memories for me. I visit Gettysburg often and stay at many of the Bed and Breakfast in and around Gettysburg. The Doubleday is one of my favorite, and my experience there on New Years eve a few years... More

We three couples just completed a weekend at the Doubleday. Todd, Christine and Molly could not have made us feel more at home. Todd and Christine were very helpful in getting us dinner reservations and directions to wherever we wanted to visit, or their recommendations. Our room was the Iverson room. It was spacious with a very large bath. The... More

I stayed in the Ramseur room. I should have looked more carefully at the pictures online. The room is ridiculously small. So small that I couldn't even open my suitcase all the way when it was on the luggage rack positioned between the bed and the wall. I didn't like it that you cannot lock your room from the inside.... I hope Todd and Christine see our review. Along with almost all of the people who have reviewed this inn, we would not have missed the opportunity. It is not the Ritz Carlton, and that may explain why it is so special. Sure it is old and shows its age but don't we refer to vintage as a plus? When... More

My husband (who is a Civil War buff) and I needed a break from the rain and flooding caused by Hurricane Irene and decided to spend a few days in Gettysburg. Since our time was limited, we chose to stay as close as possible, and The Double Day Inn sits right on the battlefield. We were immediately impressed by our... More

Matt and I visited Gettysburg during the last week of July this year. This was our first stay in a Bed & Breakfast, and I'm afraid any other B&B we encounter in the future is going to have a lot to live up to! Getting to the Doubleday Inn was very easy. Upon arrival, we met Todd at the front... More

I booked the Bell Jefferson room for our 17th anniversary getaway. My husband and I love Gettysburg and now we have one more reason to love it- The Doubleday Inn! The Inn is beautifully kept by two gracious innkeepers! The Bell Jefferson has an incredible view of the battlefield from its bank of windows. We felt so very privileged to... More

This was our first visit to the town of Gettysburg. We were not disappointed! As many have previously mentioned. the inn is located ON the battlefield. The view is amazing and the road is generally quiet. Our hosts were professional, helpful and courteous. Molly-the golden retriever mascot-was quite sweet. Breakfast was a gourmet treat and the cookies in the afternoon... More
