On March 31, 2012, I stayed at the Thomas Bond House (TBH) in Philadelphia, PA, which was my third visit. I have returned because of the lower rates (compared to other accommodations in the city I have researched) and convenient location. The TBH calls itself a bed and breakfast, but I think of it as a small hotel. The TBH... More

I mirror all the other positive reviews on the location room decor, breakfast and good staff. The website clearly states that there is no elevator, so if you check in and are disappointed, you didn't do your homework. While they do not have a parking lot, there is a very reasonably priced one just next door - access is very... More

This charming little sliver of a building is sandwiched between a huge parking garage and a 'vest-pocket' park, right in the Historic District. Decoration was tasteful, the hosts inobtrusive, and cleanliness abounds. We anticipated a lot of external noise from cars and people, but nary a sound on a quiet Sunday night. Our room was delightful--plenty of sitting room to... More

We just stayed at Thomas Bond House for a Saturday night. When we arrived in the late afternoon there was wine and cheese. The room (Dr Thomas Bond Jr) was nice - well furnished, although the layout seemed somewhat strange with the bed crammed into a corner. Breakfast was very nice too. The only problem we had was sleeping (the... More

The Thomas Bond House is in a great location in Philadelphia. Directly across from the National Park in the old part of the City. This area is a great walking area as all of the National Park facilities are easily accessible as well as you are close to the Constitution Center, the U.S. Mint, Society Hill, Besty Ross House, etc.... Note that this review was for a stay 6 months ago (that I'm just now getting around to writing). We stayed at Thomas Bond House for two nights while seeing the historical downtown area of Philadelphia. We don't mind climbing stairs, so we stayed in the lower priced Ben Franklin room on the top (4th) floor. Room was comfortable and... More

I would visit and bring friends next time, great parking next door, but the showers need a good cleaning. The shower door and rails were badly mildewed. The tiles need new grouting. I could not relax and take a shower in that environment. The room is standard for an old home, the down stairs was lovely. Staff was friendly and... More

The Thomas Bond House is nestled in a great location, away from the hustle and bustle of Center City, in charming Old City. You can walk to a number of great restaurants and historical sites - very convenient! The weekday morning continental-style breakfasts hit the spot, but I missed out on the weekend full breakfast service. The accommodations were neat... More

Very convenient location for visiting Old Town and Penn's Landing. Very nice inn keepers. The wine, cheese, and cookies were a nice touch. The room was a bit crowded, but that is to be expected in a historic home.

If you're traveling to Philly because you're a history buff, this is the place to stay! Located on National Historic Property, this B&B puts you in the middle of "Old City" and all the historic sites. Thomas Bond is a lovely building with a wonderful parlor to share a drink or two with friends. We enjoyed our modestly priced Benjamin... More
