Due to a grounded flight, I was unable to stay at the Chelsea Highline - and I STILL got great service when I showed up the next day. The staff were friendly, helpful, and were able to fulfill a personal request without any hassles. I was very impressed. If you're looking for a reasonably priced place to stay in Manhattan,... More

A friend and I stayed here for a few nights. It was ok but most hostels we stayed in after have been much better. I felt like it tried to be more like a hotel than a casual, cozy hostel. Pros: - For manhatten, the price was far from expensive. Especially considering the area. Chelsea was a great area with... More

The pros are that it's in an excellent location; the Chelsea area has had great investment in recent years. It is just across the road from a nice park that is on the Hudson River and down the road, around half a block, there is the Chelsea highline park, built on an old overground train line. The other positive is... More

If you are the kind of traveller who only needs the basics, then this is good for you. Stayed here over easter weekend with some friends. I was here with my boyfriend so we booked one of the double private rooms which wired out at $75 each per night (which for Manhattan I guess is ok). The room was very... More

Firstly, this hostel is roughly $50 per night in Manhattan. That's virtually unheard of and if you're traveling NYC on a budget you should consider it. Having said that, there are definitely some things to take into account when doing that. Pros: good location, safe and easy to get around. Large rooms with a chair, sink and lockers, only two... The room I stayed in was noisy with traffic all night long. Beds look like they came from a prison and the rooms were like an office with no color or style. The windows were poor and you wake up to barking dogs in the park across the street. The pillows were flat and windows drafty. There is no elevator... More

Located in vibrant Chelsea, the Highline 'Hotel' (a title I consider a little obfuscatory) resembles most hostels I've stayed in: friendly, casual and a little grimy. Our group of four booked a room with four beds (a double and a set of bunkbeds) four four nights over New Year. I considered the price of $75 per person per night to... More

Rooms are completely different than what you see when you reserve, free WIFI ? I don't think so. Paid interent for 10 cents a minute?that's what it said but on the c.c statment I see $20 charge for 10 minute use. Terrible customer service, stay away, it's not worth saving a few dollars.

I stayed here for two nights on a holiday to NYC, having already stayed three nights in mid-town. The building does not look very welcoming from the outside; definitely appears to be rather old and dingy. Room was basic (I had a double bed room to myself) but it was clean and the bed was decent. Bathrooms were also clean... More
