We had to book a hotel for a family medical emergency, and the Hotel Pennsylvania was the only one with rooms available for 9 nights. The staff are all friendly and helpful, but I would not stay here again. The room was big enough, the bed was comfortable, and the sheets were clean. The room and bathroom were, however, just... This is the worst hotel I've ever stayed at. We had reserved 5 nights, left after the first night. We made our decision after entering the room. The carpet had multiple stains, so did the covers on the beds. We found loose nails by one of the beds, stuff behind the nightstand and, most disturbing, something behind one of the... More

Check in was a minimum 30 minutes queue at all times of day and night. The room was tiny and old. The included breakfast was disgusting. The bathroom and shower was impossibly small. I defy anyone to get constant hot water out of the shower system.

I have literally never left a review of a hotel ever, but I feel obligated after staying here for night because of a job interview and being TERRIFIED by the Internet, to defend the reputation of Hotel Pennsylvania online. This hotel is fine. The bed was fine. The sheets were fine. There are no roaches. There are no rats. There... More

We found our accommodations to be clean and comfortable. Great location, near Madison Square Garden, Macy's....beautiful walk to Times Square, Central Park, etc.

My wife and i stayed at this hotel Dec 2011. The lobby is the best part of the hotel as it has the exit door. Whilst in an excellent location the condition of the rooms is below what you anyone should accept. We were given a room on the third floor there was rust throughout the bathroom and plaster and... Although the lobby of this hotel has 19th Century charm, I did not expect what I saw when I entered our room on the 3rd floor. Clearly, management spends nothing on general room maintenance or updating to normal 2012 technology. There is no internet on this floor! Sometimes it is a question as to whether internet is free or for... More
