Me and my husband went to NYC for a week+ stay and was recommended by a colleague to stay at Harlem Renaissance. We find the neighborhood very charming and Rick gave us a lot of tips and tricks where to go and what not to do.

This was our second visit to Rick's amazing B&B. The setting is exquisite: a beautiful house in Harlem's leafy Striver's Row, an architectural gem. Comfortable, spotless and cherished, the rooms are like a boutique hotel - and there is free wi-fi. Included breakfasts are delicious plates of fresh fruit and cake: an ideal start if you are doing the usual... More

Great location: close to subway, can get to anyplace in Manhattan in a matter of 30mins. Great place to stay: super clean with ambiance to boot. Great host: Rick is extremely knowledgeable and eager to share his knowledge. Don't miss the restaurant; Yatenga. And, yes it is safe. We didn't have any problems.

We can't get enough of Rick's charming bed and breakfast in Harlem! Our fourth stay at the Harlem Renaissance House was Easter weekend, and we enjoyed every minute of it. Rick is always the perfect host, asking engaging questions and making suggestions for what to do and where to go based on what we are looking for in our trip.... More

My friends had booked a room here for a week and I joined them for two nights. Rick moved a mattress into their room and let me stay at a very reasonable rate. The rooms face a very quiet street -- I've never slept this well staying in New York. In the morning Rick serves delicious breakfast with lots of... More

What a lovely place. Stayed there for three days, hated to leave. My room was beautiful, decorated with Rick's impressive artwork. Bed was comfortable, private bathroom brilliant white and spotless. Rick is an excellent host, expansive knowledge of the city, very gracious and accommodating. Breakfast was simple but delicious. Five minute walk to the subway. Quiet street--incredibly quiet for New... More

The house is warm, comfortable, stylish and full of stories and memories - just like host Rick Patrick. We'll definitely be staying there again if we're ever lucky enough to visit NYC a second time. Make My Cake's Red Velvet cake down the road on Adam Clayton Powell has got to be the best cake in the world.

My wife, I, our two sons and their girlfriends stayed here for two nights, having booked on the great TripAdvisor recommendations. It certainly lived up to it's reputation. The Owner, Rick, is a great host and character, very welcoming and full of advice and recommendations on what to do and see whilst in New York. His recommendation on Yatenga restaurant... More

We are just landing back from our NYC trip. We spend four days at this B&B, we did enjoy a lot. We learn from Ric, and we share good moments with him. Nice speaking sessions. The room is awesome, huge, peaceful and nice bed. So, what else could you ask for after a busy day in the big apple. All... More
