Arrived and found my room hadn't even been cleaned from the previous client. The next room they put me in, same thing. Had to wait an hour to check in to have it cleaned. The private rooms are anything but private. They're actually located INSIDE the dorm rooms. So you hear all the noise from the dorm customers. Plus in... More

The hostel was clean, but I felt that for what i paid a night, the room was not worth it. Also, I felt a little uncomfortable outside on the street in front of hostel the hostel at night. I wished the location was a little bit better for the price.

I ‘d stayed in L Hostel for 3 nights. Hostel is in walking distance to underground. It’s in Harlem, but I felt safe. There was a long queue at check in- I waited about 20 minutes. Included breakfast was bagel and coffee. Rooms and bathrooms looked pretty new. Beds were comfy. Common areas were very crowded, kitchen was dirty. Overall... More

A Harlem building was shut down by the city Thursday night, leaving more than a hundred tourists from all over the world with no place to stay. The Department of Buildings issued a vacate order at the L-Hostel on 117th Street and 7th Avenue, citing the six-story residential building was illegally converted into a hostel. The owner says he has... More

Don't get me wrong. The rooms are clean and new and generally well kept. Then what went wrong? The non-existent service. The front desk staff attitude was enough to turn me off my stay completely and cut my time there short and move to another hostel. Upon arriving, I was not even acknowledged and waited 10 mins for any attention... More

A friend and I stayed in the L Hostel for 5 days. We took cheapest room possible, for about 18 dollars a night in a 6 people mixed dorm. Our room and bathroom was cleaned each day, the bed was comfortable and we had the luck to have nice roommates. That would have been the only thing that really could... More

I spent three nights in this hostel and had a great time. My room was clean, and quiet. I had a two bed dorm, and there was only a roommate there on one of the three nights, giving me a private room. I enjoyed the tv lounge, and met a lot of great people there. The only hitch for me... More

The hostel is situated in Harlem. As a white girl it is a strange feeling walking along the streets by night. Nothing happend to me and people where also friendly when I asked for the way, but I do not recomment to women to go out there alone by night. But I recomment the hostel to all travels anyway. As...
