This was my first trip to Kotzebue and I was pleasantly surprised at the accomadations. This was a new hotel, with it's own restaurant. We stayed at the old hotel, but happened to be there during the open house for the new one. The old hotel is serviceable. The new one is beautiful and everything you could expect in a nice hotel. With only two options in Kotz, this hotel is a bit more like a hotel then the other. Pretty nice room with all the typical amenities, but not a lot of frills. Just confirming previous reviews. No frills. Expensive but it's expensive to operate anything out here. My room was clean and the bed was comfortable and there was plenty of hot water. The staff was pleasant and helpful. Housekeeping quality was variable. Tip: don't get a room next to the laundry. Laundromats are scarce out there and guests start washing early.... More

You can't beat the Nullagvik when in Kotzebue. The Bayside is, well...second best in a field of two.
