I was going for a short trip to San Diego and wasn't going to have a car so I wanted to be in the Gaslamp or nearby. I looked at multiple hotels in the area and as expected, they were all expensive ($250 or more). I happen to come across the Bristol and at $140 a night, I thought I'd... More

My husband and I stayed here from 4 May - 8 May 2012. The hotel is in a great location, close to the bus to take you to the Zoo and the trolley to connect with the bus to Sea World. The staff were friendly and the hotel smelt amazing! Our room was on the 8th floor and very clean.... More

Stayed for 7 nights (with 3 friends) on a girl-getaway to San Diego. Excellent location, walking distance to trolley and bus service (bus 7 will take you to Balboa Park and more, bus 30 to La Jolla Beach, bus 9 to Seaworld). Train station is 5 short blocks away (Amtrak/Coaster trains can take you for nice day trips from the... More

Had dinner in their restaurant and asked the server if I could get a special dinner due to my dietary restrictions, they said they would go talk to the chef. Next thing I know Chef Kirk came out and introduced himself and said it would be his pleasure to accomdate my request for a ovo-lacto-vegetarian entree. Wow what a world... More

With some trepidation, we selected a hotel by previous ratings and price rather than name - that came later. To our total delight, the Bristol exceeded all expectations. My wife and I plus our two toy poodles could not have been more pleased. From every employee we encountered to the clean, well appointed room to the beautiful decor to the... More

Partner and I stayed at the Bristol before a cruise from San Diego. Could not have been more pleased with the location, amenities, and price. A real gem close to everything and priced right. The trolley is around the corner and it's close to the cruise terminal and airport. Would recommend it without hesitation and would stay here next time... More

Vacationed in San Diego for four days & stayed at the Bristol the entire time. The room is a tad bit small but you don't notice because when you're on vacation you're not supposed to be stuck in a hotel room! The staff was friendly and the hotel is in an excellent location. We walked to the night life and... More

Stayed here for one night for a quick house hunting trip in the area. The location is great - a quick walk to the Gaslamp and all it has to offer without being right in the middle of it if at some point you want to sleep. The rooms are a bit small but not oppressively so, and the decor... More

I stayed at the Bristol for one night while on a business trip in May. The room was quiet. The bed was comfortable. The room and bathroom were clean. Connecting with the WiFi was easy. The bill was accurate. The staff were friendly. I didn't eat or drink there. The location was convenient for the train station and the Gas... More

I stayed here for two nights for a work conference. At check in I learned a little too late all that I missed. Other guests were given 50% off restaurant coupons and $1 beer or wine coupons, both of which I would have enjoyed but I was never given. When I asked questions at the front desk, the staff seemed... Dear Guest, I am deeply concerned to learn about your last stay with us and I assure you that the experience that you received was the exception and not the rule. I apologize to you for our shortcomings. We pride ourselves in providing guests with excellent service and to read a review that is not complimentary is very disappointing and... More
