I agree with most of the other reviews that this is a nice unique property in a great location. Its worth a visit downstairs to the meeting rooms just to see the old vault. The rooms are fine but the lack of double glazing means that I had to endure a droning noise from an ac plant on the building... More

This was a last minute trip for a conference and no rooms were available at the Marquis, but I was very encouraged to get a room at this property after reading the reviews. After an initial hiccup of an unclean bathroom (see pic), everything else was smooth sailing. A beautiful lobby with an above average lounge makes this property stand... More

We spent the night at the Courtyard Marriott Downtown Broadway for my brother-in-law's birthday. I was a little nervous, because I choose the hotel - our party of 8 ranged from those traveling on a budget to business travelers with lots of Marriott points. Several folks wanted to stay at the waterfront Marriott, and several at an economy hotel; this... More

I love the title you chose because it is a common phrase we like to use around here. It was a pleasure having you and your party at our hotel and we are thrilled that everything went well with the birthday festivities! I'm sure Alexis is excited to hear your compliments as well. We look forward to seeing you again... More

This was our first stay in a true "city" environment. Tall buildings, no free parking, one way streets, lots of people from all walks of life, public transit. This hotel was built inside an old bank building. Awsome architecture keeping the beautiful marble, wood, inlaid ceilings, teller windows ect. Even the vault downstairs. All the staff were very freindly and... More

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts about our hotel and location. Being in the heart of the Gaslamp District we are lucky to be next to such a lively nightlife and it sounds like you were able to really experience that. I apologize if the noise level was a disturbance for you, next time we will... More

I'm torn as to how to review this hotel. I appreciated the historical significance of the building and felt that they did a good job of preserving the character while updating the facilities. With that said, although my room was clean and comfortable, the shower would not heat up more than luke warm and the view was of the rear... More

Dear sir, Thank you kindly for your thoughtful review. I apologize for the inconvenience with the shower, that is not the standard we have set for our rooms. We hope to have you back again so you can experience one of our rooms that faces outward and we can hopefully get that 3 up to a 4 :) We look... More

This building was once a bank, and the hotel has kept many of the fixtures, such as the marble counters and teller cages, the fancy elevators, the safe-deposit box vault (which is now a conference room), and the big vault doors. It does not look very interesting from the outside: there is just a plain door on the street, no... More

First time visiting San Diego and so glad we stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and celebrated my birthday here. The staff was friendly, hotel near many major businesses and attractions, easy to get cabs and other transportations, and the hotel itself is a landmark. ROOM: The room we stayed in was nice and have all the basic amenities... More

Downtown San Diego is a fun place to have a birthday and we're so grateful you chose to celebrate it with us. You are correct - we did just install complimentary wireless internet in the guest rooms and lobby if you need to use it next trip. Good thing you went back later and got some pics in the vault,... This is a great venue if you're looking for a hotel to accommodate a small meeting. It's location is great and within immediate proximity of some fine eateries and the Gaslamp District of San Diego. The hotel itself is a converted bank (at least part of it is) and one of the meeting rooms is located in the old vault... More

We are glad we could host your meeting and provide you with the service that met your expectations. The Safe Deposit room inside the old vault is definitely one of my favorites too. We can always arrange a tour of the hotel with your group if you ever are interested. Thank you for your review and we look forward to... More

We enjoyed a four night stay in a King Suite, right next to everything in the GasLamp quarter. Our smiles started at check-in when I mentioned we were celebrating my wife's birthday. Conor needed no more prompting to find the best room available - even though three of our nights were on "points!" Then, we were treated to a fine... More

We feel lucky that you chose to celebrate your anniversary with us so the wine was the least we could do! We have a lot of fun at the front desk and tend to forget the difference between our guests and our good friends easily. We look forward to seeing you again! More

My husband and I stayed one night over the weekend at this hotel and I wish we could have stayed longer!!! This was one of the best experiences I've ever had in a hotel (including the more expensive ones). First, the hotel is a converted bank bldg...every inch of this hotel is gorgeous and well equipped. Loved the security features,... More

That's perfect because we can't wait to have YOU back! We love having the new touch key cards as well - definitely eliminates any extra trips to the front desk for new keys. Our housekeepers work hard to keep everything smelling fresh so we love to hear this feedback! Our service comes straight from the heart and that pride is... More
