We just checked in to our rooms. If you happened to book through a 3rd party such as hot-wire or Priceline, there's a $10 upgrade for double beds & a $22 parking fee, but that didn't matter because the service was exceptional! Katrina, the front desk clerk who had checked us in was wonderful! I work in a hospitality industry... More

I found the hotel to be very nicely located, within walking distance of little italy, the waterfront and even downtown or seaport village if you are upto it. We had a room overlooking the pool, where you can see the bay. The room was large and clean, furniture was slightly dated and tired but acceptable, just. Unacceptable was the noise!... More

This hotel has a great location. Very easy to walk into Little Italy or into downtown and if you have a car the freeway is right around the corner. Even though it is located right next to the freeway AND the airport our room was very quiet. Room was nice and clean, as were the common areas. Staff were all... More

This hotel is located in downtown San Diego just a few blocks of Little Italy. The accommodations and service is exceptional. This is actually our second stay at this hotel. My wife and I were treated very nicely by the hotel staff. They are very professional, friendly and helpful. Our room was lovely and had a beautiful view of the... More

Room was very nice, with balcony, bed was very comfortable. Free airport shuttle, close to public transportation and zoo/museums via bus. No free breakfast however. Ernest Driver was especially helpful

This would probably be a good hotel if you are and fan of airplanes, since you can watch the planes land from your balcony. Or you can watch the cars on the 5 freeway. Or you can just sit and listen to them, since that's all you can hear. I slept horribly. It was too loud, the rooms are nice... More

Olivia, the front facing view of Doubletree is a 10. Give her a raise. I am a frequent traveler. I have needs. Olivia first solved it and in subsequent visits has raised the bar in customer satisfaction. The room, the view, the staff, the resturant, all are at your service. Super customer service. I feel at home. Breakfast has all... More

The Doubletree Hotel San Diego Downtown is an older property that has been remodelled. Remodelling is a good idea. Whenever I go to California, I am disappointed when I encounter older buildings in general, unless they are historic masterpieces. I just have a mental image that California with it's wonderful tech base, should have the nicest newest buildings. This is... More

This hotel is average, it is not one of the best Doubletree hotels. It is convenient to Little Italy and so is close to restaurants and shops there. You can tell the property is an older one. Select a room if possible that is not facing the highway. I will say that at check in, Ray was very helpful and... More
