I've stayed here twice because it is local to the business I visit nearby. I did not have a car so I can give the perspective of a walker in the area. The hotel is around $60 taxi ride from the airport. I walked up to Vons (10 mins) for a few supplies and there are a couple places to... More

While I usually select the Courtyard Solana Beach, the Marriott Del Mar offered a lower rate. The hotel is located in a corporate area. There are several excellent dining options within one mile or a 20-minute walk. The room was typical Marriott. The air conditioning unit was notably loud and ineffective. I woke up both nights feeling like I was... More

The last two times I've been to San Diego, I stayed at the La Jolla Marriott. I will now stay at this property instead. The rooms are nicely remodeled with new carpet, bedding, TV, and other furnishings. The Concierge Lounge was beautiful, well-stocked, and with friendly attendants. The homemade cookies and milk at bedtime were a nice touch as well!... More

I stayed here for 5 nights on business. The good: - Hotel is clean, recently renovated, and rooms are pleasant though not remarkable in any way - HD television (though that's become standard) - Wireless and wired internet in room (12.95 or free for Gold and Platinum members) - Nice lounge area and pool area; seemed to be fairly lively... For business travel this is a great hotel. If you'd like to have something to do during the day for an extended stay however, this isn't the most centralised hotel. The staff were pleasant and the room itself was exactly as I'd expected it to be (beautifully made up and spotlessly clean). It was disappointing to be charged for Internet... More

After reserving this over the phone for $190 a night they then whacked me for $20 a night to park and $13 for WiFi. The latter charge was dropped after I questioned it. But then $2 for coffee in the lobby? You'd think full-serve would mean "everything included". Then there was the noise. The refrigerator was so loud I unplugged... More

A nice property with a good restaurant, fitness club, pool area, and location. Centrally located to north and south San Diego, close to shopping and dining, close to I-5, and 5 minutes to Del Mar Beach and Ocean Drive.

My company is based in La Jolla so I have stayed at the La Jolla Marriott for many years. In my opinion, that hotel has gone down hill over the last 2 years so I wanted to try another property that was still reasonably close by. Only 5 minutes farther up I-5 North is the Del Mar Marriott. It is... More

The property is very clean and the rooms appear new. Although I did not visit the pool area, it looked very nice from my window and appeared to have a good social scene. The hotel is about a twenty minute walk (5 minute drive) from the Del Mar Town Center, which has some good dining and shopping options. The property... More

My husband had a business meeting in the area so I had a couple of days to relax. The room was pleasant and nice. There was no shampoo when we checked into our room, but they provided it almost immediately. Parking is expensive though. The weather was perfect to sit outside by the lounge and pool area but instead of... More
