Where else do you end a Civil War tour but at Appomattox. We booked on the day and our first choice was gone, so we hoped we could get into Longacre. Longacre is a rather splendid 1930s Tudor Mansion, with a verdant sprawling garden. The rooms are comfortable , our room was well appointed, to standard that you would not... More

I modified a business trip to Virginia Beach to include some time with my mom, so I drove from Cleveland, Ohio, through WV to collect Mom, then headed east to meander around Virginia for a couple of days on the way to my business meetings. Once I started looking for lodging options, it became apparently that a B&B would be... More

What a joy it was for us to stay at Longacre Bed & Breakfast when we visited this past weekend to see the historical Appomattox Village. Upon arrival we were met by Dana and she enthusiastically gave us the grand tour of the property. They have WiFi Internet that was easily accessed from our room. After we settled into the... More

We felt so welcome at this beautiful Bed and Breakfast. The innkeepers Dana and Renee are warm and friendly. We stayed in the Magnolia room which is lovely, spacious and very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious also. We felt very much at home yet pampered at the same time. The only downside would be a train that goes by at night... More

Upon arrival, I was greated with the warmest "Welcome to Longacre!" and a big smile. Dana is truley a gracious southern woman whose caring and pampering is extended at every turn. The home is a warm and welcoming place where you truley do feel welcome to linger and use the public rooms and grounds. The pictures on the web site... More

Having stayed at several B&Bs, our first stay at the Longacre was fairly consistent with our expectations. The house and grounds are unique and well-kept, and the large lot allows for some outdoor wandering without feeling exposed or that you're intruding on the neighbors. Having several common rooms allowed for private relaxation, which is very important to us. We arrived... More

This is a beautiful B&B and you are made to feel like a special person from the minute you walk through the door and until you leave. Dana & Renee are gracious hostesses. The home and grounds were so enjoyable as there was everything made available to you. You could never find a cleaner, beautiful place and also enjoy a... More

Four years of the bloodiest war ever fought on American soil and the healing process began in Appomattox. It can boggle the mind. You need a place to talk about what you saw and what you learned and this is the place. A wonderful Tudor style home, hosted by Dana and her mother. Comfortable, inviting and relaxing. The rooms are... More

This was a very charming bed and breakfast. The host was extremely friendly and made us feel welcome. We stayed in "The Manor" room which was great. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom spacious. We did stay on Halloween and the house next to the bed and breakfast played music until midnight but we drowned it out with the... More

Longacre is a large English-style house from the 1920s. The owners (fairly new to the property, it seems) have decorated and furnished in keeping with the 20th-century architecture. My room was a beautifully appointed attic room, somewhat apart from the other guest rooms. Large tub, but no shower (though when I went back to the website, I saw that this... More
