It's a charming well appointed historic B&B in a rural setting. Decorated very tastefully throughout -- bedrooms, house & restaurant. Our room (Abbitt) needed a little fixing -- loose key plate lock, loose toilet paper holder. The TV was very small & the bed & pillows were very hard. However, the owner, Sheila was very pleasant. Decided to have dinner... More

We found this B&B on the web having decided to do different as they say in our part of the world. That is to try different accommodations on our tour of Virginia and to avoid the hotel chains. And we were not disappointed. This historic house was charming, the bedroom also. But the highlight was the food with a superb... More

The room was nice, the bed decent and the owner also very nice. But the dinner I had here was outstanding! Very small dining room with great service. The waiter made a point a filling my wine glass to the brim, knowing I was stying and not driving. Made sleep easier in foreign place. I loved Appomattox for its remoteness... More

We went here sight unseen and thought it'd be a comfortable stay. We've stayed at several B&B before. The home is historical and very pretty, done up with Christmas decorations. The lady proprietor was friendly and welcoming. We were to be the only boarders that night. She had forgotten my request for two beds, so moved us to another room... More

Very comfortable suite with sitting room available. Furnished with lovely antiques, yet a modern well-appointed bathroom. In room flat screen TV, as well as books and games available. Gourmet restaurant downstairs. Porches and balconies with chairs, but view is of high school across the street. Very near place where Civil War ended. Very reasonably priced.

We didn't stay at the Babcock House Bed and Breakfast Inn but had two evening meals there during our three day stay in Appomattox. What a find! Although we visited Appomattox in the quiet seasont the proprietor opened the restaurant for us even though we were the only customers that evening and what a superb meal we had and so... More

Our stay at the Babcock House was very pleasant. We stayed in the Annie Laurie Room, which had a four-poster bed and a rolltop bath. Sheila and the staff were very friendly and the food we had for evening meal and breakfast were very good. Despite the reputation for being the 'best restaurant in town' the evening meals were very... More

This was just what we needed after a long day of driving. Nicely appointed rooms, squeaky floors and all. We arrived too late for dinner but breakfast was wonderful. Quiet neighborhood. Unless you want a Super 8 or Budget Inn experience this is your only option in Appomattox. It is a good one.

We were in the Byron Room which is downstairs. We realized that we really prefer a king bed, but that is our choice. The bathroom is large which is very nice, though the bedroom is a little small. The Inn is beautiful and is the best restaurant in town. We had a dinner reservation and upon arrival were treated to... More

We stayed two nights in the Bradley Suite so that we could visit the various civil war historical sites in the area. The house is a very nice vintage structure. Do not expect it to be sound proof and squeak free! We enjoyed the extra sitting room so one person could nap and the other could watch TV after lots... More
