I stayed here for a week in early October while attending a conference at the Moscone Centre. The location is excellent - I walked everywhere all week and it was just a short walk to the Moscone Centre, shopping, Union Square, cable cars, etc. It is particularly close to the BART line, which is extremely convenient if you are flying... I stayed at Hotel Bijou for 3 nights in late November while attending a conference at the Moscone Center in SF. For this conference, registrants were being offered discounted hotel room rates at the nearby Hilton Towers, Marriott Marquis and Intercontinental. I booked at Hotel Bijou after researching alternatives nearby the conference facility, and discovered that through an online discounter,... More

This is an older building with basic facilities. No frills. Clean rooms, friendly staff. The hotel itself is quiet, but the street outside is noisy. An interesting plus is an eight-seat movie theatre that shows great old movies every evening. Close to a BART station and downtown shopping.

Stayed at the Bijou Hotel in November 2011 with my other half... The Hotel was a good find in terms of the location and price and this should have warned us on what to expect - No Parking is available unless you drive round the block and look for a reasonable clean parking with no homeless people harrasing you. -... We enjoy the stay The location is perfect the staff very helpful, specially the morning lady who help us in many ways! Everything is close by. Try to get rooms on the back, while they can be smaller they are quieter Enjoy!

The Good: The cost and it's a great location a 1/2 block away from Union Square. The Bad: Area becomes unsafe after dark. Internet didn't work inside my room. The Ugly: No air conditioning! Again....No air conditioning! (This isn't mentioned anywhere on their website) The main reason for the bad review is the lack of a/c. It was far too... More

The hotel is not the greatest it's a very small boutique hotel with very small rooms but quite clean. San Fran can be expensive so this is one of the cheapest it's among alot of things but the area is quite rough at night and can be through the day but mostly at night. I couldn't stay here a week... This hotel is great little jewel in the downtown shopping area. Granted, immediately around the corner it is very very seedy, but this didn't bother us at all. The rooms are small and tacky, but this makes it quaint. The staff were very friendly. For the price, this place is fine, and I would stay again. We stayed in June... More

The location is fine. Close to Market St. Close to Moscone Center. Close to cable car. The breakfast is ok - bread, egg, pancakes, youghurt, corn flakes, fresh coffee, fruit and juice. Room are ok, but you have to ask for earplugs! The noise from outside Can be too much.

We ended up at the Hotel Bijou through hotwire.com, and after reading some of the reviews I was nervous. We arrived early and wanted to drop off our luggage, but we were pleasantly surprised at being allowed to check in early. The hotel is a bit worn, and the rooms are dated, but they were clean (although very small). My... More
