We stayed at this hotel in September 2011. We were on a road trip from San Diego to San Francisco and so this was our final destination before heading back to the UK. We turned up on the spot as we struggled to find anywhere to stay in the city (there was a huge IT convention going on and every... More

Great location and decent price led us to book here. Rude front desk employees led us to walk out of the lobby and find another place to stay the night. Was asked by the only employee at the front desk (when the three of us first arrived) to sit down and wait three times for the shift to change, even... More

Basic hotel with rooms consisting of bed, tv, fridge, mircowave, cupboard and drawers. Plain and simple but clean and great for people keeping a strict budget. Basically on the edge of china town and 1 long street straight to fishermans wharf about 15-20 mins walk with nice quirky cafes and places to eat. Aswell as chineese food in the area... More

This is a basic hotel, but if you´re after a cheap place without having to stay in a dodgy place this is a good option. Small rooms, shared bathrooms (maybe they have ensuites as well), 24 hrs reception, and quiet. Only downside was when I got a room facing the street, bit more noise. Not a place for a romantic... This is a great location! At the base of Chinatown and convenient to all things San Francisco. This is a former SRO (Single Room Occupancy) building. That means that the bathroom and showers are communal and located in the hallway. With that being said, there is a sink, microwave and mini frig in the rooms. Wireless internet is available free... I have stayed here several times, and the single rooms are clean, with a new cube refrigerator, closet with a door, TV, and night stand. The beds are simple (a little hammocky), and the baths and showers are in the hallway, so they can be clean (or not), depending on the other guests. Many of the rooms overlook Columbus Ave.,... More

Stayed here 4 nights last week while on a conference. I was a little concerned beforehand, after reading several reviews, but it was actually a pretty cool experience. The room was small, but comfortable. The soundproofing was good... walking down the hall I could always hear the TV in the room next to me, but as soon as I went... More

So yeah, it's old and kinda dirty but you're in San Francisco, what do you expect? My partner and I got a basic queen room- a bit cell-like but with a high ceiling. probably 12x16 or something. There was an included microwave and fridge which was probably my favorite thing about the room. Overall, good place for the money. No... More

I paid less than $1000 for a month in this hotel. The room is clean, the shared bathroom is ok. The service is kind of friendly. Think of the hotel as a dorm-like building. The location is between North Beach and China Town (near Financial District). Cons: elevator can be out of order for a while; weird 'neighbors' (low-income residents... More

Staff made our stay great. Very accomodating and friendly. Location is the best! Within walking distance to china town, fishermans warf, Russian hill, red light district, italian district, bars n cafes and transportation lines. I felt very safe coming and going. Bathrooms n showers were always clean and available. Your in the middle of the city so bring earplugs n... More
