We stayed at the Europa Hotel over New Years Eve. It was by far the cheapest option in a good location. If we'd had the money we would've stayed elsewhere, it is very run down. However, for what we wanted (good location and cheap) it was fine... as we all are seasoned travellers that have seen much worse! We wanted... More

This hotel is basic but clean, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. This might not be the ideal accommodation for everyone, however... it's located between a couple of strip clubs and while we didn't feel unsafe, it can be a bit noisy at night. It's also right nearby some fantastic Italian restaurants and within walking distance to the... More

Having travelled the world and stayed in basic accommodation in Thailand and Cambodia this is by far the worst accommodation we have ever stayed in. Negatives: Our room was filthy, the bed was infested with bed bugs, the sink was stained with nail polish and the shared bathrooms are full of cigarette butts, trash and hair. The 'hotel' is full... We booked multiple rooms here for the weekend of NYE for a family group. You can't beat the price, great central location. Downsides are the noise and general appearance of the whole place; but with the right budget traveller attitude it's really not a big deal. If I'd had the money I would've stayed somewhere else, but for two nights... More

This hotel is above a busy bar and alongside a busy road so loads of noise. Also, the hotel appeared to be more of a 'residential place' with long term guests so not quite what we expected but was central to China town and Fishermans Wharf was only around a half house walk plus Little Italy was only around 10... After realizing you've been sleeping on a pile of blood (more than a cut on the toe or a period leak, we are talking stabbing or miscarriage size) for four nights you'd expect the hotel manager to say more than 'you guys just want a refund because you have no money'. After arguing and making them loose business for 10... More

I spent 3 nights at the room 136 at Europa hotel. I barely slept because of the noise of the nightclub, which I believe, was just below my room. It was extremely noisy until 3am. Moreover the room was dirty and the smell was horrible. The shared bathroom was not perfect as well. It is a shame that the owners... More

This hotel was not as bad as other reviewers made it seem. I lived in Peru for 6 months, so maybe my standards are a little lower when it comes to hostel quality, but this place is not bad. There is a television, microwave, and minifridge. Our room was the corner room and we had sign for The Condor right... More

Pros: cheap Cons: street noise, dodgy neighbourhood, barely adequate bathrooms, cockroaches Noise The street noise is very loud in rooms facing the street: heavy traffic, loud arguments in colourful language, and fireworks every night. The noise alone would discourage me from coming back to hotels in this area. Neighbourhood It's a pretty seedy red light district (which contributes to the... More
