The Kabuki is in Japan Town, about 20 minutes walk from Union Square, and 5 minutes from Fillmore street. At first, the distance from Union Square seemed a disadvantage, as the walk down Post Street passes through some areas I wouldn't want to walk at night, but if you shift one road across and walk down Sutter Street it's fine,... Our intention was for jet a two day stay. A medical emergency required us to extend our stay to 6 days. Not only were they able to accommodate our needs for special items but, made sure I was very comfortable. I wold more than recommend this property to others without reservation. The valet parking is limited but come on this... More

Overall a good hotel. Not outstanding by any means, but a solid hotel for business or pleasure. Connected to the East Mall of the Japan Center, only steps away from many restaurants and shops and a few blocks from Fillmore Street.

The staff were genuinely friendly and courteous to myself and my husband who are from the east coast and had been travelling since 2am EST. We were met with smiles and warm welcomes. The room was clean with tapestries on the wall and shoji screen for windows which is a nice touch in a city of concrete. The bed was... More

Enjoyed our stay. Very comfortable beds and a great home base for visiting San Francisco. The restaurant/bar has very good food and drinks and the proximity to the mall and retail/restaurants with Japanese themes is a plus. We liked that we could walk to Yoshi's for dinner and a show. Nice neighborhood.

The Hotel Kabuki is an attractive, comfortable hotel located on the eastern edge of the Japan Center in central San Francisco. It is one of the few hotels in central S.F. and as such is located away from the hustle and bustle of the more touristy areas like Union Square and Fisherman's Wharf, which really can be a good thing.... In spite of some signs of aging, the Kabuki continues to provide a great and well-located stay in San Francisco. We were there for yet another medical adventure at UCSF, and the Kabuki's location nearby made it super-handy in that regard. We also had a blast tooling around Japan town, doing some therapy shopping and generally having fun. If you... More

Spent four days in this hotel, visiting a family member who lives nearby. A little off the beaten track but a lot more relaxing than staying in the thick of things. Room 1103: I loved the japanese shades on the wall and the fixtures in the room. The beds were comfortable and warm. The AC/heater was easy to adjust for a persnickety sleeper like me.
