Surprisingly great 3 day stay for price! Excellent location for a quick stroll into "downtown" Bar Harbor or an easy 10 minute drive to Acadia. Tom and his friendly staff have created an environment that feels like spending a low key weekend with an out of town relative. Great job! Oh...and amazing food!

As opposed to everyone else, we simply did not find the Black Friar Inn to be particularly fabulous. Our room (#1) was worn and tired with stained carpet and furniture and an extremely outdated bathroom including a freestanding tub that has a shower curtain that clings to you with every move. My husband and I were so happy with our choice stay at the Black Friar Inn. Friar Tom, owner, and staff were very welcoming and easy going. My husband and I stayed in Room #5 of the Black Friar Inn while visiting Acadia National Park last month. We were so happy with our room, parking, breakfast, and of course, Tom, our Innkeeper. Parking was ample and free. We could see our car from our room. There was no need to move the car to see downtown Bar... More

Stayed here over the 4th of july weekend and loved it. Tom makes an excellent breakfast, try the french toast! We had the smallest room there and found it small but clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay here again for the location food and service.
