We stayed here for a week and had no problems. I think if you pay extra to stay along the water you will be cramped. We chose a full hook up site and had a nice sized spot, could have had more shade but whatever. Maine was in a heat wave when we while there and there was no escaping... More

First of all the site was beautiful. It was nice having the little portable potties close by. The girls in the store were very kind...We did have a perfect spot and is convienient if you want to canoe or kayak..BUT, anyway, the first night was fine, the first morning had nice hot showers as promised, and we prepared to take... They told us there were 20 tent sites left when we make the reservation, but when we got there all the way from MA, we found we were assigned to the "narrow tent area" where there is no assigned tent space. You have to find yourself a spot in the very limited area. There were no picnic tables, no fireplaces... More

Pros: The staff was very friendly and helpful. We thought the rates were reasonable (we paid about $115 for two nights on a waterfront tent site). The pool was clean and heated, and it had a slide. The grounds were very nicely maintained. There are activities scheduled throughout the week (although, none were scheduled during our stay). There is a... More

We paid about $40/night which I thought was a good price for a shady spot with water and electric, and the location is about 15 minutes from Bar Harbor or the entrance to Acadia National Park. Quite honestly we did not spend much time at the campground, but we were satisfied with the bathrooms and showers. The showers were especially... More

I would never do that to the one i loved ever again. That had to be one of the worst places we have stayed at for any price. Just drive down the road and you could stay at cheaper cleaner motes for less than one nite at this hole. Lovely ppl on the phone. What place in the free world... More

I was given a weekend away in Bar Harbor for my birthday back in March, and had to wait almost 3 months until we could finally go. When I found out where we would be staying, I did a lot of research on the area, and on the campground itself. I was surprised to find that many campers did not... More

Our family of four camped on the ocean at site T20 as suggested in the reviews. Our girls ages 8 and 11 enjoyed exploring on the rocks and seaweed and watching the tide come in. We found dead crab shells, blue mussels, whelks, ... They arranged it so we did not have anyone occupying the 2 neighboring campsites and it... More

We just returned from our stay at Mt. Desert Narrows Campground and besides tenting in the rainy weather, we were pleasantly surprised by the campground. The campground is very family friendly. There are nightly activities including hayrides, ice cream socials, a magic show and a family craft night for young children. We missed the ice cream social but the magician... More
