This is the place to go if you there are 2 of you, you want a quiet time away from kids and you want to be close to a pool and the ocean. Friendly staff who go beyond what you usually get. I note some other reviewers are disappointed in lack of massive resort glitz - you just chose the... More

Koa Kea was pretty good. Very good staff, maybe the best staff we came across on our Hawaiian holiday. Overall it was not quite as good as I expected, room a bit small restaurant very good one night, not so good another night. We found a good restaurant close by though it was Merrimans. The access to the beach in... More

If you are looking for a quiet and restful hotel on Kauai, this is the place. Yes, it is a big pricey but, in my opinion, worth it. First of all, don't expect to be entertained; don't expect a luau; don't expect big families with lots of kids running around the pool; and don't expect the other guests keeping you... More

After reading favorable reviews of the Koa Kea our hopes were high. Our disappointment was crushing and difficult to conceal from the very nice staff. Clearly someone has found an old 1960s motel in a lovely (and it is lovely) spot and decided to convert into a hotel and resort. They have consulted a list of all of the things... More

We recently stayed at Koa Kea for 5 days on the first leg of our honeymoon. The staff has been excellent, the food outstanding, and the grounds meticulously maintained. We highly recommend getting a breakfast package as the offerings are hard to resist. The only detractor was the room cleaning service was done fairly late in the day and wasn't... More

I should start by saying my husband and I are spa freaks... massages especially. We have them just about everywhere we travel so we know a good one from a bad one. The spa at Koa Kai is amazing! We had our massages in the spa in their couples room. Like the rest of the hotel, it was beautiful, clean... More

My fiance and I came here for what we jokingly referred to as our pre-honeymoon, but it might have just been the real thing. Everything about Koa Kea was perfect and thoughtful from check in to check out. The worst thing I can say is that everything is dreadfully expensive - but it is definitely worth the emptying of our... More

We spent 7 nights at the Koa Kea at the end of May. Our room was on the second floor with a view of the ocean, the sunset, and the pool. It was pretty impressive - when we checked in, the hotel person at check-in showed us two different rooms and let us pick! really - when does that happen?... More

The setting, The first class feeling and amenities. The quiet, clean and beautiful grounds all rolled together in a "teak it easy" Kauai kind of way made this a very special stay four our 10 year anniversary. 100% of the Staff was 100% awesome. $6 to have your 6 star breakfast (souffle pancakes with fresh strawberrys!) delivered and setup on...
