We stayed at this lovely tropic-rainforest-surrounded nest for two nights, and those nights were the best expereience we had in Hawaii the entire vacation. What Volcano Village Lodge does for the B&B concept is beyond a travelers imagination. Just to tell you, while there are a lot of photos of this place online, photos cannot duplicate the beauty of this... More

The rooms are spacious and clean. They overlook the grounds which are wooded and nicely maintained. The staff was friendly and helpful and the rooms (which are basically independent cottages) are surrounded by lush wooded landscaping. The hotel is about a 10 minute drive from the entrance to the national park so it is very centrally located. The main problems... More

Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear that your heater did not work. We hope that you shared that with the Inn Keepers as we keep extras in the case that something goes wrong. It does get cold in Volcano as we are at 4000 ft above sea level. We are in the middle of the rain... More

Traveled here in December 2012 with my Wife. We both really liked this place. We stayed in the "Hale Kilauea" room which was just unbelievably nice. Three of the walls are essentially all glass so you have a complete view of the surrounding woods. The fireplace worked great and heated the entire room at night quickly. Our room was very... More

I fell in love with Hawaii and I fell in love with Kauai and the Big Island. We stayed a few nights in Kona before driving over to Volcano and staying at this lodge. This lodge was totally different from the hotels and resorts we stayed in on the Kona area and on Kauai. I had never spent time in... More

Such a superb choice for anyone looking for peace, tranquility and privacy. The drive along the Western highway 11 from Kona is breathtaking.

I have never gotten online to write a review for any place where I have stayed, but I wanted to take a moment to thank the ladies at Volcano Village Lodge for everything they did for us during our stay. This was our fifth trip to Hawaii. It was out first trip to see the Big Island. We picked Volcano... More

We stayed at the Volcano Village Lodge after staying at the Trump on Waikiki. We liked Volcano Village Lodge a lot more than we did the Trump. This place is unbelievable. We really enjoyed having the breakfast in our room waiting for us when we woke up. What a romantic way to have room service with no one bother you.... More

We stayed at the Lodge in February and while our room was very nice we were disappointed in both the service and breakfast. I called ahead to have champagne in the room for our anniversary but when we arrived nothing had been arranged. I then asked to have a reservation made for dinner but when we arrived at the restaurant... More

Thank you for taking the time to write your review. We were saddened to hear about your service complaints. That is where we usually shine as our reviews show. Concerning breakfast, our confirmation to our customers states "In Hawaii, permitted B&B Inns are not allowed to serve hot cooked meals, except baked items. We devised a creative way to serve... Stayed here for one night at the end of our honeymoon. Very small boutique villas. You get your own room in the middle of very lush rainforest. Our room had a floor to ceiling wall of windows that had an amazing view of the greenery. Felt very isolated and private. Enjoyed the hottub and a delicious basket of gourmet goodies.... More

I stayed here in April, 2012. From the minute I walked into my lodge (the Mauna Kea), I felt warm and cozy which is a funny thing to say about Hawaii, but in the rain forest, the temperatures are cool and usually drizzly. The gas stove warmed me at night, the bed was very comfortable, the breakfast each morning was... More
