I was at the Fairmont from Saturday - Friday this past week. It was a conference for my fiancé work. I was very very disappointed. We actually paid to stay there 2 nights before the conference began for 230 a night part of the presidents club. I was in the room for 5 min waiting for the luggage when this... More

The hotel is excellent overall. Great services and lovely cove beach. Rooms are very nice with great bathrooms. You need a rental car to get anywhere though. I would recommend booking one in advance. They have a Dollar Rent a Car onsite but if there is a conference on the cars will be gone quickly. The island is incredibly diverse... More

To begin, we are not big resort fans; too many folks and we like to adventure beyond the hotel. That said, we stayed here at the end of our travels on the big island and it was exquisite at what it offers. Waimea is not the most inviting place on the big island, as the area is surrounded by fields... More

This is a very large and beautiful oceanfront property, well-suited for meetings or for families looking for a breather, if not a break. Most everything you would want is here and it may not be cheap, but it is nice. Standout for me was the protected cove (and man made beach) which allows children and those who are uncomfortable with... More

My wife and I stayed in this hotel in December 2011. We absolutely loved this hotel. Our room was a nice size, including a decent sized balcony. The bathroom was awesome (my wife's words). It was large with a stand up shower, bath tub and separate toilet. The deli had really good sandwiches and the lounge upstairs next to lobby... More

The beach with the protected cove, the pool, and the service are excellent! We stayed here for my parents' golden anniversary, and I let the hotel know. They had a bottle of champagne waiting for them in the room at check-in. They also upgraded my parents to a better room. We also had several children in our party and the... More

We stayed at the Fairmont Orchid May 9-16. We wanted to go somehwhere we could just relax and do nothing. The hotel met our expectations 100 %.We paid a little extra for a partial ocean view room. Our balcony had a view of the beach near Brown's Restuarant. The room was large and the bed was super comfortable. As other reviewers... More

We spent 3 nights here after spending the first part of our trip in Kauai. We hadn't been to the Big Island yet, and wanted a spot with luxurious surroundings and great service. The Fairmont succeeded on both counts. Property: The Fairmont is situated on a gorgeous stretch of beach, and the property itself is large and impressive. The drive... More

We just got back from our four day start at the Fairmont Orchid. Beautiful property, friendly staff, clean rooms, beautiful partial ocean view. I see other reviews saying that the food was mediocre. I wouldn't say that the food was spectacular but we enjoyed what we ate. The pool experience was pleasant...never crowded. We rented a cabana one of the... More

We just returned from a 6 night stay at the Fairmont Orchid. I'll do my best to speak of the hotel, how you can save some cash and the big island in general. Off we go: Rental car: If you plan on simply being a hotel tourist or even a tourist visting common places, a sedan is just fine. However,... More
