This was my first stay in the big island and my first ever in a bed and breakfast. We stayed in the Bali-hai suite. It was clean, beautiful, and perfectly decorated with a gorgeous four post bed and air conditioning. Everything that I have read in these reviews is true; Gay and Billy are more than accomodating. They are the quintessential...

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights in December. Gay and Bill were excellent hosts and breakfast was excellent. We even got a hula performance from Gay one morning. The room was very nice and clean. It was the most comfortable bed we stayed in during our trip to Hawaii. The entire Inn was furnished and decorated very...

Our family of four had more than enough room in their Samurai Suite. The master bedroom is a unique and very beautiful Japanese tearoom built within the room (my teenage daughter called this the Inception room). The room, built without nails, was imported from Japan (along with the builder) by the Japanese family that originally owned the home. Expansive views...

We spent three nights at the Hilo Honu Inn and had a wonderful experience! Our hosts were kind, outgoing, and thoughtful, not to mention amazing cooks and splendid storytellers. The house and rooms have the look and feel that comes with care and attention to detail. We stayed in the Honu's nest; the bed was soft and comfortable, the bathroom...

We only had one night in Hilo, but what a night! I had one of the best sleeps of my life. The bed was so comfortable, furnishings were homey and beautiful, and the bathroom was amazing (with a rain shower). Speaking of rain showers, we had a heck of a good one at 1 AM. We got up and sat...

Recently stayed in Hilo Honu Inn for my son's graduation from UH-Hilo. Traveled with a group of 10 including a 3 year old and our stay couldn't have been better. The house is unbelievable and the updates Innkepers Gay and Billy have done are all tasteful and top of the line... especially in all the baths. The panaramic view of...

My wife and I stayed here on our honeymoon in the Samurai Suite and this room was amazing bathroom with tiled shower and tub and bedroom with lanai and tataki mats. They even had boards, flashlights, etc. for you to take when exploring the island. But what was best of all was the wonderful homemade breakfasts from the couple. WOW! Would...

Hilo Honu Inn MADE our stay in Hilo the memorable experience it is because, frankly, we weren't enamored with the town itself. This B&B in a lovely section of town -- with the friendliness and graciousness of Gay and Bill -- is a holiday in itself. A beautiful getaway with a stunning Japanese loft suite with panoramic views of the...

What more could you want from a B&B?
Great location on the hill overlooking downtown Hilo and the Hilo Bay. A very well restored historic home built by a Japanese family in the 30's. Very comfortable beds. Excellent showers. Beautiful furnishings. Attention to detail. Easy access to Hilo Farmer's Market, Volcano National Park, Mauna Kea observatory.
The best part. ....
