I am literally writing this 15 minutes after experiencing this terrible place. We are locals that live on the Kona side. We came for the weekend for our daughters canoe paddling regatta and are staying overnight. I found this place on Craigslist and the picture of the room looked nice/decent enough. I want to point out we are not "high... More

I stayed here when I came for a week to the Big Island. I did save money by staying here. The room was adequate looking. There was good hot water, and the bathroom was nice. There were quite a few cockroaches, but nothing not tolerable if I cleaned up after myself. The kitchenette saved me money. The cable was good.... More

"Maybe I can tolerate this to save money." No I couldn't and no, you can't, if you are hoping to experience minimal comfort and cleanliness. This travel memory is not worth it, even if it were free. If you are allergic to mold and mildew, these rooms will make you sick. If you need WI-fi in the room, it is... More

My room was infested with cockroaches crawling all over. Front desk staff would not assist, they said I needed to contact the individual landlord (Tawny). It was Thanksgiving weekend and I had nowhere to go. Something bit my arm while I slept. I contacted Tawny, who told me that the reason this room opened up for me was that the... More

I recently stayed here for eight days. I thought I'd save money by staying there. It was a big mistake. First I'll list the positive things about my studio condo. It had good hot water. That's it! Here were the con's for me: My condo on the sixth floor needs an elevator. Twice it stopped working when I had a... More

This place is for easy going well traveled people who want save a $100 a night over what the other two hotels on Banyan Drive charge. The rooms I've stayed in are comfortable, clean and quiet. The former conference room on the ground floor is a Hula Halau. Seeing the kids and parents coming and going to hula practice gives... More

Stayed here for most of a month after I moved to Hilo, while I was looking for a real place to rent. Definitely not luxury--in fact Banyan Drive in general is pretty run-down; it looks like it was probably a nice tourist area 30-40 years ago, and hasn't been updated since. This place is laughable as a "country club," and... More

My family and I were staying in a Kona resort but needed a hotel room on Hilo side for one evening so we could visit the volcano at night and not drive all the way back to Kona. We were given the name of this hotel by an employee at our resort. Upon arriving at the "Country Club" Condo hotel,... More

I am a solo traveling 25 year old female and love Hilo. Decided to come here alone after renting out a condo on Craigslist for $98 for 2 nights, cleaning fee, and taxes. The motels here seem to be dumps, and renting a house was out of my price range for being within a few miles to Richardson Beach. Gave... More

It is NOT a nightmare here! The name is deceiving because it sounds upscale, but come on, look at the pictures, it's obviously not. We just needed a cheap place to shower and lodge for the night and this place was great! Very friendly, great price, and yeah the building was really old and not so pretty, but we weren't... More
