We freaked out when we arrived, but we went in to give it a chance. We respect that they were in the midst of renovations. Place was clean and service was prompt. Dated, but suitable for a night's stay. Not a luxurious, relaxing choice.

Once again trying to find a decent hotel in Hawaii that won't break the budget as the big chains aren't here or charge resort prices. This is very "old school" but is very well maintained. We went there on a school trip and the staff was friendly and helpful. The restaurant is simple and the pool is nothing special. But the location is great for old Hilo Town and the rooms clean and well-maintained for what they are.
