Stayed here for 2 nights with fiancee. Definitely recommend. Great outdoor kitchen, ambiance, friendly folks, beautiful area.

If you want to live around animals domestic and others (pigs, parrots, horses, sheeps, peacock, cock,..), that's then an amazing place. If you're looking for kind hosts taking care about everythin about you, I'm not sure it's the right place (but we only stayed for one night, whereas multiple nights seem needed to appreciate truly this place).

After reading all the reviews, i thought i would put a view out there that might explain the polar opposities in other guests experiences. The Rainbow Plantation is more of a community than just a B and B. Similarly to the social experiences one might find camping, there is a connection to nature that you simnply could never find at... This incredible place is right out of a storybook. Perfect for animal and nature lovers, I have never in my life seen such a variety of beautiful animals, free to roam and play, and entertain the guests. The gorgeous waterfall ponds beneath the deck where breakfast is served were full of beautiful fish and waterlillies. The grounds were beautifully illuminated... More

Best part of our brief stay was the breakfast on the owner's deck--complete with little geckos who visited a spoon set out for them to lick the jam from. Our lodgings had a nice bathroom, but a strange, long sitting room situated so one stared at a locked door from the futon (just a covered mattress, actually) a few feet... More

This B&B is extremely beautiful and comfortable. Also great fun. We felt genuinely welcome. And it’s a safe place for women. We found the cost was reasonable for all we got. Breakfast was amazing. All organic. All fresh. All made with love. Everyone there made us feel very much at home – the owners, the workers and the animals. Marianna,... More

This place is amazing, my husband and I stayed with Marianne and her "pet entourage" for part of our honeymoon. We absolutely loved it. Parrots and birds welcomed us with words and our room was clean.( bring your own shampoo though). This place is made for people who love animals, local food and people who like to socialize with other... More

My wife Sara and I just spent 4 days of vacation at the Rainbow Plantation bed and breakfast on the big island of Hawaii. The moment we drove the 1000 ft entrance lane down the hill through lush huge tropical fauna, into this hidden Shangri-La, we could feel the real world pressures melt away. A wonderful variety of animals, all... More

We had two lovely nights in the Peacock Room at the Rainbow Plantation in Captain Cook, HI. Marianna is gracious and accommodating. She serves full breakfast at 8 in a tropical lanai, including homemade breads and jams, and mangoes straight off her tree. She gave us wonderful snorkeling advice and even had enough variety of equipment to fit a size... More

We stayed 2 nights in the Fern Room and, overall, had a very nice experience. I believe the negative reviews on this site are, for the most part, a bit unfair and should be taken with a grain of salt. This place simply cannot be compared to most B&Bs or other hotels generally. While certainly staying here is not comparable... More
