If you're looking to chill, this is the place. The breakfast are great, it's fun to meet the other guests from all over, and you will be tempted not to leave. The views are killer, and when it rains, you can curl up on the lanai with a book. It's not a hotel, and it doesn't have many of the... More

Yes, you start to wonder what you've got into driving up this goat track but upon arrival to paradise, it becomes irrelevant. Johannes was warm and welcoming, showed us our comfortable room and the extraordinary house with majestic views including a sunset never to be forgotten. Breakfast was delicious and very social with the other guests and us sitting at... More

Room was comfortable and well appointed. Breakfast tasty. GREAT coffee all day long. Easy to rent kayak from b&b. Good info provided. Great views although was voggy most of our stay. Hot tub was out of order, a bit of a disappointment. Road up to house is normally bumpy for the big island but barely navigable by mainland standards -... More

We loved staying at the Aloha Guest House – incredible view (we watched the sunset twice, having dinner at the guest house using the small but well-equipped kitchen), delicious breakfasts and very tasteful furnishings. We felt very welcome and enjoyed the communal breakfast; they reminded us of the Chambres d'hotes in France. It is so nice to talk to other... More

The road is not that bad, although you need to allow 15 minutes or so to go the mile to the highway; we had no problem in a sedan, going slowly. The co-owner, Johann, could not have been more welcoming and gracious to all his guests. Nicely decorated and landscaped, beautiful views if the weather is clear. Johann cooked a... More

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at the Aloha Guest House last month. This was our sixth trip to the Big Island, but our first stay at the AGH. After reading some of the reviews we were expecting the road to be a challenge, but it really wasn't a problem. In fact it was quite fun; more like... More

This is a delightful, clean and comfortable place with hospitable operators. It is a mile up a rough road so it is quiet, peaceful and private. The lanai's are spacious, very tastefully appointed and command an extraordinary view. The breakfasts are superb as is the local coffee ground and brewed by the cup. Snorkeling gear and Kayaks are available for... More

Our host, Greg, for our two night stay at the Aloha Guest House February 20 th and 21st was just great! We enjoyed everything about our stay. Breakfast and coffee were the very best on the Island. Attention to detail, explanation of his B & B, and Greg's helpfulness with visiting the area was so useful and appreciated. It was... More

The one mile road to the Aloha Guest House is worth the experience. We stayed in the Horizon suite with a view of the Pacific Ocean. Johann was our host; created a wonderful breakfast each morning. Grounds slope upward with banana, coffee, and citrus trees. Room, bedding, amenities were upscale. If you're going to the Big Island, this place is... More

Being a frequent traveller all over the world and frequent guest in BBs, i can say that this place is a hidden gem with excellent amenities, beautiful rooms and comfort bedding, a friendly and competent host (this time it was Johann), a perfect, good and healthy breakfast, nice and original Kona coffee the entire day. We had been here 12... More
