We planned a 12 day trip to the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone National Parks. Our goal was to stay in various places along our trip to reduce driving times due to the large distances withing the parks. We chose the Hatchett Resort because it was located close to the entrance of the Grand Tetons. It was a nice enough looking... More

We traveled throughout Yellowstone and thought the Hatchet Resort would be a perfect lodge. What a mistake. The hotel had been renovated within a few years and could have been very nice. But, the carpet was filthy. Sand had been tracked in through the front door and they hadn't bothered to vacuum it. We requested vacuuming and after they were... More

Stayed one night in a Suite. Beautiful views of the Tetons. Fantastic Big Jetted Tub. Great Big windows to let the Mountain air flow. Delightful Heated floors to warm your feet. Loads of extra blankets, pillows and plenty of towels.Pleasant staff that was looking forward to a much needed break from the busy Summer Season! Book one of the Suite's... More

The Hatchet Resort is vastly over rated and over priced. Our room was not much bigger than a walk-in closet. The lone bed was tight to the wall while the opposite wall was less than 18 inches from the bed. The carpet was stained and wet and wood was rotting from a leaky shower sill. The hot tub they advertised... More

Stayed in august 2011 with family. Room was not huge but very comfortable. Looked like the bathroom was recently upgraded. The front desk staff was very accommodating and assisted us with booking horseback rides. They were also very helpful with planning our days in yellowstone. The food in the restaurant was fantastic! The brisket was great! The breakfast was reasonably... More

The resort is conveniently located near the east entrance of Grand Teton. When we arrived we found the grounds of the "resort" very lovely, check-in was nice and fast (arrived late), just dropped off our bagages in the room and got to the restaurant. There is a nice ambience in the restaurant and altough the choice is very restricted, our... More

The Hatchet Resort is just east of the eastern entrance to Grand Teton National Park, which means it's close to almost nothing (a feature that might be just what you're looking for). The Hatchet has a small gas station, a sparsely-provisioned general store, and a very pleasant restaurant with bar. I knocked it down a star in my rating because... More

We loved staying here. We found the rooms to be more than satisfactory. We spent most of our time in Yellowstone and Grand Teton Parks so didn't need lots of amenities. The shower in our bathroom was fantastic! We found the staff to be very competent. The price for breakfast in the Grill was maybe a little high, but the... More

We stayed in seven different lodges/cabins/hotels in and around Yellowstone Nat'l Park and Mt. Rushmore and the Black Hills area. This "resort" was the most expensive and the most dissappointing. There was basically nothing there for my eight year old to do in the way of activities, the hot tub was broken and when I asked about hiking as a... More

We were traveling with young kids and looking for a place to stay between Yellowstone and Idaho Falls by way of Grand Teton National Park. The Hatchet Resort met our needs perfectly. The staff was able to accommodate our late arrival after a full day of sight seeing. This kids really liked the cabin-like rooms and the playground. We really... More
