we checked into Ambassador Inn at 12pm. A room wasn't ready but they said we could check our bags across st at Ambassador hotel and return later. so we did that. We returned about 5pm weary and cold after a long day to travel and walking. After 15 minutes of searching and phone calls, they said they were switching us across the st to the Ambassador Hotel, upgrading us and would comp us our first-night stay for our troubles. I do appreciate that kindness because the hotel is 10000 times nice than the inn! The lobby at the Inn is small and dark, the breakfast room is tiny and we had to go out for breakfast because the continental breakfast they supplied was so bad. The staff though were lovely. I find it hard to believe they are related at all to the hotel across the st. The only reason for the third circle was the staff and the upgrade

I stayed only one night at the Ambassador Inn. It was perfect for that amount of time. The staff were friendly and helpful. And the beds were comfortable. I would recommend this place to friends. Would have liked it to be closer to more restaurants though.

Hotel is old, smell is awful. During the whole night people were screaming around, someone knocked at my door three times really aggressive. I left as early as I could. And for this you pay a 100 dollars? And another 15 and spend a night in a different hotel, because the type of stay you will receive in here you won’t forget you entire life. Just horrible.

Not a great hotel/motel. Had two nights there on a trip in August and it was one of the poorer places we've been. Reception had 'lost' my reservation on check in. Took me some time to prove i had it and had already paid. Noise level between rooms is really bad, can hear pretty much everything both sides. Had an awful nights sleep on one night and ended up with noise cancelling earphones on the 2nd. It's quite a bit cheaper than places close-by but I'm not sure i'd sacrifice quality for the location. It's in a kind of no-mans land between Miller park and downtown. If you want to do anything you need to Taxi/Bus/Drive - The neighborhood directly south of the hotel is shady at night so wouldn't wander around too far. Breakfast was really threadbare. Staff we're however friendly and helpful - can't fault them but the hotel itself need a lot of work. We went across the road to the Ambassador Hotel for use of the free shuttle (good service) and the difference is huge, as has been mentioned in reviews. That feels like a well kept and ran hotel. Surprised they would associate with the Inn.

First off I would highly recommend the shuttle that is provided by the Ambassador hotel across the street. The drivers were courteous, prompt, and helpful. The ambassador Inn is across the street from the Ambassador hotel. I was told the ambassador inn was a sister hotel to the Ambassador Hotel. I was hopeful that it would be nice. It was horrible. It needs close down. We immediately had trouble with our room with a loud motor that was running in it. We did not have a closet. We were staying for three days and did not have a closet. Inside where the closet should’ve been a motor ran. We immediately told the desk clerk there was a loud motor running in the room. We ended up staying in that room the first night and could not get any sleep. The parking is across the street in an unsecured parking lot. The breakfast was minimal. There were oranges that look like dried grey oranges There are four chairs in the breakfast room. My advice is to make sure that you know where your reservation is at.

Nice hotel in decent location. You receive discounts for the restaurants across the street and there is a free shuttle that will take you and pick you up anywhere in a 3 mile radius, and that's alot of places. It will get you to the riverwalk and Miller Park. When we go back we will stay across the street at the Ambassador but if its full this is a nice option.

I booked this hotel because it looked charming online and the price wasn’t awful. Anywho, I arrived in the evening and was unable to find parking. There was a concert next door and apparently they don’t monitor who parks in their lots. I called the front desk and asked where I could park as their tiny lot was full. The clerk acted as if she was unable to understand English. I ended up just parking across the street in the Ambassador Hotel garage at $20 a night. This was not comped as I was told it would be. Checking in was fine. The hallway smelled like smoke. My room smelled like smoke. I had no washcloths. The TV wouldn't turn on. The “high speed” WiFi worked half the time. When i tried to call the front desk to ask for help, the room phone didn’t work. The continental breakfast is a joke. Literally coffee, stale bagels, and a gallon of OJ. The “business center” was a computer in the lobby ACROSS THE STREET. The only reason I’m giving it 2 stars is because the door locked and I made it out alive. But never again. I wouldn’t recommend staying here (unless you’re a drunk needing a place to crash for the night).

When we arrived at the hotel we assumed we had made a wrong turn as the property was much nicer than we expected for the rate we paid. When we checked in, we were sent across the street to an adjacent property that was much more moderate in its appearance but more in line with our rate. Once we settled in we found the room to be comfortable... BRING PILLOWS WITH YOU...THE ONES IN THE ROOM ARE TINY AND FLAT. Other than that it was very well maintained... bathrooms were spotless and very well stocked. The highlight of the property is the people there.. the staff we wonderful and the shuttle drivers were awesome in their knowledge of the area and their courtesy to us. The staff made our stay wonderful. I really can't say enough about the staff and their attention to guests. They were awesome. If we ever travel again in that part of the country we will definitely stay there again.

I had made a prepaid reservation for 2 nights over two months ago. We arrived to check in only to be told by the desk that 'Nadine' canceled my reservation back on the 16th without notice. I was told to go talk to her across the street and she could get it taken care of. Walked across and found her. I explained the situation and she looked at a screen and told me I never had a reservation and also told me they don't guarantee 3rd party reservations. (notice the story change from then telling me Nadine canceled the room on the 16th, to Nadines version that I never had a reservation. At this point it s obvious that Someone was lying!!) I showed her the confirmation and she still insisted I had no prepaid reservation. Called the site where I booked from and they were unable to resolve with the hotel when they called them so they will be refunding my money. Later I found out that my friend and another friends mother both had their reservations canceled that night as well. According to the buzz the next day, there were many others as well. It s obvious to me that they overbooked so they canceled the ones who booked on 3rd party sites and paid less) Beware when booking this hotel. Even if pre-paying, there's a good chance you will find yourself on the street without a place to stay. What A disgraceful business.

We only needed a bed to sleep in. Got a good price online make sure to shop around. Don't confuse the place with the hotel across the street. Easy to locate. You must park on side street in loading only to check in. Check in was easy. Yes they had our reservations. The man at the desk was very friendly as was all staff. He asked if we wanted parking we said yes, he wrote us a pass to put on dash. Parking right across street. Looked new and secure. However when we got home I was billed $10 for parking. So be warned. Nothing on thier site and the check in guy never said anything about paying for parking. But they went ahead and charged my card. Small elevators. Room was just fine. 2 double beds. Air conditioning worked. Everything appeared to be clean I checked. Covers were warm. Pillows were okay. No complaints on the bed. TV was fine. Nothing to complain about as far as noise, but then again we were only there to sleep and that we did. Didn't try the breakfast. The free shuttle service was amazing. The driver Anna was great and safe driver. Used the shuttle to the Fiesvr Forum for a concert. Drop off and pick up were good, didn't have to wait long. Pick up for shuttle is across the street at hotel. The inn itself is older. A bit drab. Notice some stains on carpet, but definitely headed in the right direction. There is no food or vending on site. We felt safe in this neighborhood, didn't look run down. Seemed close to other entertainment. Surprised this got the bad reviews it did.
