They were not ready for check in at 3. The couple me and my girlfriend were with had to wait and hour for a room. Our room had no bath towels just 2 hand towels and one wash cloth. The service sucked and there was an open bottle lotion sticking out from under the bed so the room could not... More

Hasty bookings can lead to nasty stays. Sometimes you have no choice and this stay was some of those times. Every other downtown room was booked so off to the ill-reviewed Ramada Downtown Charleston we went. Rather than parrot the other complaints let us just say they are basically all correct with an asterisk. One working elevator and only steps... More

Elivator broken, stealing from rooms, very noisey, dirty, keys worked only sometimes. Carpet stained, non smoking room was a smoking room. House keeping screening in the halls with other guests while having an argument. There for a conference which was great service and room. Early check in is a big no go they will not even entertain the idea. Costomer... More

All other hotels were booked and this was about the only selection available during that week. I always plan ahead but I had to be at a meeting that had just been scheduled. Plan ahead and stay just about anywhere else. The elevators are still broken, one out of three works. Plan to leave an extra 10-12 minutes to get... More

I guess it was just like home... I had to clean the bathroom and the walls before I was able to stay in the room. I also had to buy candles and air freshener so that the room did not smell so bad. I booked this hotel on Hotwire and was not asked if I needed a non smoking room.... More

Was initially excited about getting this 2.5 star, riverfront property for only a $50 bid. However, when we arrived the lobby was dim and SEEDY. Two out of the three lobby elevators were under "renovation" and the third was loud enough to be heard from the lobby and from the room. It made a strange thumping noise as it passed... More

This hotel is a mess! My family was traveling back from North Carolina to Ohio and decided to give this so called "historic" hotel a go, regardless of the other reviews! DO NOT stay here. The hotel ranks of old odor and I see why, the window seals and sealing around the top of the room have mold. The wallpaper... More

I was part of a school trip to Charleston, and we stayed in this establishment. I gave this establishment a low rating earlier, but I was pleased with the upgrades that seemed to have taken place since Ramada took over. The bed was about as comfortable as any hotel I have stayed in. I could tell a lot of effort... More

The property is currently under renovation, so that may be what impacted my impressions so much. The staff was certainly friendly and helpful. However there was only one working elevator for an over 10 story hotel. The television in the room received the three major cable news networks, two or three other cable channels and a few grainy local network... More

I got this hotel through a $50 bid on Priceline. I have never had a bad experience with Priceline hotels, in fact, I have had very good luck staying at awesome hotels for low bids. My luck ran out with this hotel! I was traveling with my mom and my 2 children (6 & 4) as we were taking a... More
