This is one of my favourite places in the world. It is serene. Spectacular scenery. The hiking trails call - all interesting, all well marked. Take your camera and your field glasses. You are bound to see birds, hear them, encounter deer, see delicate flowers, and stop to marvel at the views. Nearby Winthrop and Twisp are both curious little... More

They use the term "lodge" quite loosely - I think "fabulous resort" is closer to it's likeness. Mt Robinson rooms are absolutely gorgeous, and the view just can't be beat. Nothing like waking up to the North Cascades outside your window. Excellent attentive staff, heavenly smelling bath products (Gilchrist and Soames --- I'm hooked), and tasty dining options. Take the... More

Sun Mountain Lodge has reopened and we were there the first weekend. The high mountain setting provides spectacular vistas from every window. The facility has both outdoor recreation and many nooks and crannies for reading or games by the fireplace. The windows open, the beds are comfy and the Gilcrist and Soames bath products are appreciated. The lodge and room... More

This is a great place for couples, friends, families .. whoever. We've stayed in both the Mt Robinson rooms and the regular lodge rooms and loved both. The lodge rooms are spacious and cozy, so not sure the mt. Robinsons are worth the extra price except for the great big jacuzzi bathtub. There's no tv in the rooms. We read... More

My sister just got married here this last weekend. It was phenomenal! From the sleigh ride to the wine cellar, our small party had a truly wonderful time. My wife and I were here in the spring and had a relaxing time hiking and eating in the lodge, but I would say it was even better in the winter cross-country... More

For the past four years, we have gone to Sun Mountain for nordic skiing and a fantastic stay. It is well worth the drive. The scenery is beautiful; the staff very accommodating and friendly; the food and ambiance. excellent.

My sister and I were in need of a little pampering and thought that a spa associated with some outdoor activities would be just the ticket. We loved the spa services and were very pleased that the massages were very much above the usual amateur level of hotel spa massage. I felt fantastic afterward. Was worth every penny. Throw in... I can heartily recommend Sun Mountain Lodge. The property is beautiful, and we ate and drank very well the entire time we were there. The restaurant turns out some delicious offerings. I was so in love with the French dip sandwich, for example, that I'm still dreaming of it. We went skiing twice on their lovely cross-country trails, which were... More

This was our 5th 'New Year' at the Lodge. Each visit brings plenty of snow, relaxation and a community of people who simply enjoy the beautiful surroundings and the tranquility that only this lodge seems to provide. Our New Years dinner in the dining room was the very best ever and would compare to any great Seattle restaurant. The bar has... More

Another family winter getaway to Sun Mountain Lodge-----once again, we loved the beauty of the winter mountain views, the sound of the sleigh bells on the horse drawn sleighs as they headed out or returned from excursions (our room is towards the end of the Gardner building across the parking lot from where the sleighs are loaded), stargazing or watching...
