My husband and I, plus a friend spent a night at the Lyle Hotel in late Sept., 2011. We just loved the place! We were on motorcycles, having ridden over that day from the Walla Walla area. We pulled in on a Thursday evening. It took a few minutes for someone to respond to the bell at the front desk.... More

We had friends that had stayed here last year, and called a bunch of us (14 ) and told us, we all need to get together at the Lyle Hotel in Hotel ( We'd all just returned from Sturgis this past summer and had a ball.) Anyway, I looked this place up and thought OH NO!!! What have we (... More

My wife and I spent a weekend at the Lyle Hotel with two other couples and had a grand time. The retro nature of the building with the bathrooms down the hall and no TV is appealing. Dinner is served Thurs thru Sat and is excellent, as is the Sunday Brunch. The service is thoughtful and attentive. Their is a... More

This hotel is on the Washington side of the Columbia Gorge just past White Salmon. This is wine country, and if you drive out here to taste you should spend the night. The Lyle Hotel was built in 1905 as a boarding house. It has maintained its rustic ways with lots of bedrooms, but bathrooms down the hall. We stayed... More

This was our second stay at the Lyle, and we thoroughly enjoyed the relaxed, small-town atmosphere in this historic hotel. Tips: Make sure to stay on a night when the restaurant is open, ie Friday or Saturday. More

My wife organized some kind of surprise b-day party that was hosted and and catered by the Lyle Hotel staff. It was awesome. Great service, great food, it was all good. The place was clean and they even let my wife keep her dog there! We stayed 3 nights and visited places around the Gorge. I would highly recommend the... More

First I have to say my wife and I had a great time here. We felt at home, welcomed and catered to. Second don't come here expecting the Ritz Carlton or cookie cutter accommodations. The hotel is small by almost all standards, so are the rooms, but it is one of the most pleasing places I have every spent a... More

I found this gem because it was suggested by a local winery. Both the hotel and the couple who own and operate it are charmingly understated. Quietly hospitable, the shady patio is only steps from easy access to a view of the river even though it is only a couple of blocks off scenic Highway 14. While I was an... More

I brought my wife and 2 kids and we had a wonderful visit. We have stayed before and will be back again. We discovered a nice walk down the street and out to basalt rocks on the edge of the Columbia River! There were fresh ripe black berries growing along the road that my kids enjoyed picking and eating. The... More
