This is an old historic Inn done up with country decor. The room and bathroom were imaculate. The hotel had some very nice touches, great magazines in room and lobby to read. Free water bottles in the fridge next to the ice machine. The hotel had a lovely courtyard with seating and a hot tub. Our room and bed were... More

No, the rooms don't have great views of the Channel, but that is why we have feet -- a ~10metre walk gets you there. Location is brilliant: Just across the street from Calico Cupboard, and why would you go anywhere else in La Conner for breakfast? My room was small, but very comfortable; the bathroom was lovely. Staff were all... More

Up a narrow stairway to the second floor, Hotel Planter is across the street from the water with a peak-a-boo view of the channel. Services was good. The room was small (I hit the door on the night stand going into my room.) The bathroom was large. A historic building, but dated finshings pointing to a 1980s remodel. 12 units... More

We've gone to La Conner for New Year's Eve many times over the last 10 years & although we've strayed elsewhere a couple of years, we always come back. This is the first time we've tried the Hotel Planter & we're glad we did. The hotel info stated, "if you look carefully you may see a partial view of the... More

Yes, I agree with a previous review....Hotel Planter is not a "Five Star Hotel", but....would I "recommend it to a friend"? The answer is: Absolutely...!! We stayed in Room #2. I believe that's their best room. It's in a separate wing overlooking the courtyard facing away from 1st Street and the traffic. Cudos to Hotel Planter, and the staff for... More

The previous ratings are inflated in our opinion. Hotel Planter is a good value, but it's not quite as special as all the 4 and 5 star ratings imply -- although it may be the best value in La Conner. For those with European travel experience, this is a solid 3-star hotel. Clean, well run, with knowledgable, friendly, helpful staff.... More

We spent the night at the Hotel Planter and it was lovely. It has been remodeled with such good taste, the staff is very friendly and there is free tea and coffee available all day long. The location is great, right by all the stores on 1st Street but being at the very end of the street it is quiet.... More

Great get away . The staff was very friendly and helpful, the room was spotless and very comfortable. Across the steet is a wonderful bakery for breakfast. The best burger and frys are served up at a little tavern about 4 doors down. Enjoy a fabulous getaway in this beautiful little town, you won't be disappointed! More

We have stayed at the Hotel Planter several times over the years, and have always enjoyed our stay. This hotel in right on the main street in La Conner, so we were steps from the shops and restaurants. The hotel itself does not have dining facilities, but restaurants are very close; we had breakfast right across the street. This is... More

My husband and I had been apart for five months - he at our home in Winnipeg while I completed a grueling 5 month course at university in Vancouver. We planned a three-day trip together right after I graduated, and we could not have selected a better place. I have always loved La Conner, but had never stayed at the... More
