Very nice experience. Good location. Very nice and very clean room. Karen, the innkeeper was friendly and sat down with us at breakfast and just chatted. We love that kind of thing. It makes the stay more personal. The breakfast was good. The location is about a two minute drive to Colonial Williamsburg going past the College of William and... More

We stayed in the Brick House Tavern, on the second floor. There were two twin beds. There stairs were pretty easy to manage, and there was also a room to use in the basement. Pluses: Location: We were right on DoG street, in the center of it all. Can't beat it. Clean: It was pretty clean. The housekeepers were nice.... More

My husband and I wanted a simple get away with just a bit of history. The houses were very nice though a bit loud. We liked that we only had to cross the street to reach the town. The concierge was very helpful in planning our outside activities. The area is central to many historical areas. Our room was next... More

If you are trying to decide on a place to stay in Williamsburg, you should consider staying in one of the colonial houses. The proximity to all the action is unmatched. We stayed at the Brick Shop House for 3 nights with 2 adults and 3 kids, and were able to walk outside our door back in time to 1776!... More

Two adults and one preschooler stayed at the Robert Carter Kitchen for a long weekend. We were disappointed upon check in, since we had reserved the Orlando Jones Kitchen when we made the reservation, but the Robert Carter Kitchen was nice, although we had to walk at least 1/2 mile to be in the heart of the action of the... Many people are not aware that over 100 families live full time in the Colonial Williamsburg area. Many of the houses are not available to rent but there are over 20 buildings that are ready to rent just as a hotel room. Sizes and shapes vary from a simple room in a tavern with a twin bed or two all... More

We were a large family of 8 travelling south and stopping by Williamsburg for a day before continuing on. While I personally had been to Williamsburg before it was a very long time ago, long enough that I had very fleeting recollections of the place. I only knew it was very interesting. I had no idea on the availability of... More

Very nice! Bathroom could use a little maintenance, but liked it otherwise. Very private. Very tranquil and quiet. I would definitely return and try other Colonial Williamsburg Historic Colonial Houses as they're so charming and unique!

Perfect location in walking distance to everything but tucked away for privacy and quiet. Lovely private garden in back. Small - can be a problem with suitcases and storage but has closet, small hutch. Charming canopy bed. Fireplace. Our favorite place -- have stayed at houses on Duke of Gloucester but too much in the midst with noise and felt... More

If you ever wanted to stay right in the thick of things, then be sure to try one of the Colonial Houses that they rent out thru Colonial Williamsburg. My sister and I rented one that was situated directly in the center of Duke of Gloucester Street. Each morning you could hear the hooves of the horses or cattle hitting... More
