It is an old run down Motel 6 or Super 8... Sorry, they are a little better then here. But it was 4 blocks from the Heart of all that is Williamsburg. The room had marks on the wall, and the ceiling was peeling. I think you get the idea now. The breakfast was OK, and the pool was clean...... More

We stayed here for two nights with our 3 kids. It definitely is a basic hotel and it's not so pretty to look at, but it was clean and in walking distance to Colonial Williamsburg. We always walked, and our youngest was 4 and had no problems. We have pretty high standards, so I was worried after reading some of... More

I stayed at the Governor's Inn recently when traveling with a group. The price was excellent, the room was very "old school" but clean. The beds were comfortable and the noise level was average. You occasionally hear a train because you are a 5 minute walk from the Amtrack station. You are a 10 minute walk from Merchant Square and... More

I still don't understand why people find it necessary to spend tons of money on a hotel room in an area where you will truly only be in the room to sleep and shower. The Governor's Inn is ideal on many fronts. First the price is completely reasonable and fair. Second the location is right in Colonial Williamsburg where you... More

My son (10) and I stayed at the Governor's Inn on a recent school trip to Williamsburg, so we had no choice in our hotel. If I had input, I would definitely stay elsewhere. I was a bit shocked to learn that this place was actually operated by Colonial Williamsburg. In a nutshell, this motel is older and is in... More

We stayed five nights in April. Our hotel room was comfortable, clean, and surprisingly nice, given the inexpensive rate. Nice towels, great pillows, comfortable beds. AC worked once we figured out the settings. Free breakfast with boiled eggs, fruit, pastries, bread, cereal, instant grits and oatmeal - you can make something filling even if this was not gourmet food. I... More

Good: Friendly desk staff, clean room, conveniently close (walking distance) to Colonial Williamsburg So-so: Free breakfast, but no hot items and the only fruit was apples Not so Good: room looked timeworn, many scuff marks on the walls; walls very thin, lots of sound/noise carried through from adjacent room.

Stayed here for 4 days over Spring Break. Check-in and out was efficient and quick. Our room was ready even though we arrived before the 4 o'clock check-in time. Jewel and Ann were pleasant and helpful in answering any of our questions. The breakfast staff made sure there was always ample food available and the room was always clean upon... More

I originally booked a condo nearby, but cancelled after adding up the cost savings of staying at a Colonial Williamsburg hotel. The room rate was $79 and included a nice breakfast. They gave us a cot for no charge, which was so helpful with 3 children. The biggest cost-savings was on tickets for Colonial Williamsburg. We saved $10 per adult... More

You get what you pay for. we decided to economize and not stay at one of the pricier Williamsburg lodging options. My first impression was very good: The desk manager was very helpful at checkin. It went downhill from there. Our downstairs corner room was way past its prime. The train ran right next to our room. The rug was... More
