I recently attended a work conference at this hotel. The rooms were clean, roomy and comfortable. It has a pool, gym, atrium as well as a couple of restaurants on site. Located in the center of town, walking distance from the College of William and Mary short drive to Go Ape tree top canopy and outlet stores (Coach, BCBG, Burberry,... More

We stayed here for two nights this past weekend for our daughter's graduation from William and Mary. I will say one thing about the hotel. It was convenient. We could walk anywhere on campus, to Colonial Williamsburg, and to Wawa for quick muffins and breakfast foods when packing our daughter up. HOWEVER. It is old. It is outdated. It was... More

Dear Alli565, Thank you for sharing about your recent stay. I would appreciate an opportunity to talk about some of the issues you experienced during your stay. While I am happy that our team was friendly and available, some of the points you mentioned would be specific to the room you occupied and I'd like an opportunity to address those.... More

Tired, outdated, uncomfortable, poorly equipped rooms. Historic? Yeah, like 1950s. We're here for a week and frankly, I don't think I'm going to make it through the first night. We're in a fourth floor room on the back of the hotel with a tiny little window up high and an enormous tree right up against the window. Thus, the room... More

Dear hvtraveler, Thank you for sharing about your stay. It sounds like we weren't the product you were looking for and I am sorry that we couldn't provide a better lodging option here. As a sidebar we do have plans to add flat screens in the coming year although that doesn't help us today. The other specific items in your... More

This hotel turned out a lot bigger than I envisaged, but no fault for that facilities were good, I was in for a convention and the meeting rooms and banquetting etc were excellent. Breakfast was the only downside, staff in papillons are a little blunt, food selection is not fantastic for a hotel of this size, and I got ripped... More

Dear Albanach, Thank you for sharing about your stay. I did pass along your feedback about Papillon to my Food & Beverage Director. I apologize that they came off blunt. They are better than that and I am sorry that the experience wasn't a better one. I do hope we will see you again when you travel back to Williamsburg.... More

So, I know this place wasn't a Ritz, but for what it is, I thought it was great! I came here with my Dad to drop me off to school and it was very clean, the staff was very nice and friendly, and the breakfast I had was very good. Overall it was a relief from some of the chain... More

Your budget is tight or you must be close to campus. Otherwise: - air conditioning temps were all over the place throughout the hotel - hallways DARK and DIRTY, EXTREMELY outdated - rooms not as bad as hallways but close (bed was admittedly comfortable) - staff were friendly - restaurants seemed nice (didn't eat in them but walked past and... Dear Richmondalan, Thank you for your comments. We have already begin addressing the corridors in parts of the building and will continue to do so over the next year as business permits. They are admittedly tired and we've seen a marked improvement in the ones we've completed work on. Once that work is done I do hope you will come... More

I stayed here for one night mid-week in April. I would normally drive home after a day in Williamsburg, but needed to head in the opposite direction the next morning. I got a room here with a AAA discount for about the price of a tank of gas. The hotel is located across from William and Mary, a short walk... More

We visited Williamsburg to tour William and Mary Law as my daughter was evaluating where she wants to attend in the Fall. The staff was courteous and helpful with directions. The room was older, beds uncomfortably firm for me and the pillows with no support. The water in the tub dripped constantly so the plumbing clearly needs attention. We had... More

Dear BarbaraLeary, Thank you for sharing about your stay. As I mentioned in the review posted just before yours, I have already touched base with my Chief Engineer about the plumbing issue. Stayed here for 4 nights recently so had a chance to spend some time at the hotel.
