Our room looked out on the water, literally just 10 feet away. Excellent breakfasts (we stayed two nights) and a very nice tour of the interesting old Gables mansion. There's a nice restaurant just a short walk away.

The Gables would have been enjoyable except for the fish factory smell that required the covering of my mouth and nose to breath, but this wasn't mentioned when booking the honeymoon suite. The suite was beautiful and clean except for the sheets and bedspread & pillow shams--I don't think they were washed.

My husband and I stayed at The Gables [Dana Lee Suite] while visitng family over July 4th weekend. We had a wonderful stay. Barbara was so pleasant and makes the best breakfast! We thoroughly enjoy the private tour of the mansion also. We will definitely visit again!

We had a spur of the moment weekend break and spent a wonderful night being taken care of by Barbara. The room was outstanding, excellent location and Barbara's knowledge of the house and history of the area was most interesting and helpful. Breakfast was delightful and we are sorry we were could only stay one night!

The host and hostess were welcoming and friendly. The cottage they have overlooks the water. We sat in our chairs in the grass out back with wine and cheese and watched the boats and an Osprey that had new chicks. We had a wonderful time. The room was lovely, breakfast was outstanding and Barbara the hostess in addition to being delightful, was a gold mine of information as well as a most creative cook. But the icing on the cake was the tour of the mansion with Barbara. Be sure to allow time for it.

We could only stay one night but enjoyed it very much. We loved our room that had a picture window looking out over Cockrell's Creek.
