A slight doubt crossed my mind as we first turned into the drive to Avalon, passing by a garden center business, but soon we were down an incline into a wonderful hidden valley with cheerful cottages, rooms, friendly fowl and lots of natural beauty. I travel right across New Zealand and Australia on business. Without doubt the Avalon Resort is one of the best places I have stayed. The cottage we had was very well equiped and the location with beautiful scenery was great. The chickens and ducks wake you up in the morning when the sun warms up the terrace. From here you have all the "must sees" within short distance available. Willem is a great host and helps you out with all the info you need.... More

What a wonderful place this was! The bungalow was comfortable and the grounds excellent! Willem is a great host and we ended up coming back for more and staying there again on our trip to the North. 5 stars for everything .... and we will be back very soon!
