Our room itself was fine albiet plain. Bathroom was the main issue as the shower head wasn't great, there was no curtain or barrier to stop water from going everywhere, and no extractor fan so the bathroom fogged up badly and everything got wet. There was some road noise in our unit. The continental breakfast included in the price was... More

We found Margrain searching for a room on a vineyard in Martinborough using Wotif. The website is very misleading. The rooms look out over fields not the vineyard - bizarre seeing as they are not many years old and could have been put anywhere on the vineyard. The night we stayed, in the supposed up-market Pinot Suite - we were... More

Rooms are very dated and up against the main road. Even though only 2 rooms in the complex were occupied they put the new guests in the room right next to us. iPod dock didn't work Lamp didn't work Dead flys on the bathroom window sill Traffic noise during the day Not really in a vineyard No shower screen in... Reading the other reviews after having just been there, our experience was quite similar. We didn't feel our room(s) - we had 2 adjoining rooms - were that dated. They aren't that old, maybe 6 or 7 years at a rough guess. The TVs need replacing, they cannot pick up a wide screen signal and display it correctly, no matter... More

Had difficulty in finding the villas as web site directions were misleading. We found it by spotting the unusual design from the street corner it was supposed to be on. Like others disappointed that it was on a busy road & overlooked fields not vines! Wonderful restaurant - Cornucopia in walking distance - the only one. Villa management lent us... More

Just returned from 3 weeks in NZ and stayed at 10 different villas and this was the only one that was disappointing. Looks great on the outside but as mentioned by others; dated bland rooms, over priced, no shower screen in bathroom so everything gets wet and is dangerous. Should have read trip advisor before booking, lesson learnt!

As other reviewers have stated I also wanted to love this place. The location is quite pretty albeit near a road-The views from the balcony, which need updating, were obscured by overgrown trees and bushes- The do it yourself breakfast that was supplied was adequate, but no sink apart from the bathroom to top up kettle etc, I suspect you... We booked it for a nice weekend getaway but on arrival found that the unit was right next to a fairly busy main road. We had a small sliver of a balcony which was occupied by overgrown vines and a tiny piece of the view. The unit was comfortable but dated and the pictures and furnishings old, faded and tired.... paid $330 for two rooms for the night - not worth it - big rooms but poorly laid out with minimal furniture - open plan shower so everything gets wet.

I wanted to like this but despite the location amidst the rolling vineyards, the acomodation was only so-so and staff attitude worse. It was spacious and clean, but signs of neglect were creeping in with flaking paint on the outside and poor atttention to detail inside. On what basis they can be considered 'delux' (to quote their own website) is... More
