I stayed here last October after a day of slogging through the rains of Galicia, and was quite happy to check in and enjoy the pousada's excellent bathtub. My room provided an excellent view of the valley. While it was too rainy for me to try the pool, it still seemed open for use. I did not have the negative... More

We booked direct with the hotel via their website and had no problems getting a two night stay with breakfast only. Only a short walk into town where there were a few choices for lunch and dinner. The pool was gorgeous but could have done with some sun loungers etc. More

we stayed here while hiking the camino--a bit dificult to find, but really nice place with gorgeous view, great pool and incredibly lovely staff. But in order to book it in advance we had to take the meal plan--as with several of the hotels along the camino who required the meal plan, that's where they made their money--the breakfasts were... We stayed here on the second night of our trek on the last section of the Comino. The hotel was at the 'far end' of the village so, for walkers on the Comino, it entailed a little trek up a steep set of steps and then right through the village of Portomarin. (We had to retrace our steps the next... More

Best place to stay on the whole Camino! I enjoyed it more than the 4 star place we stayed at in Santiago. Lovely hotel - great swimming pool. My starter of pancakes in mushroom sauce was the best thing I ate the whole holiday. Went with friends - am hoping to persuade my partner to go there with me one... More

We really enjoyed staying in this hotel. The room was exceptional, very big, beautifully decorated, with a huge balcony and great views. The swimming pool was a great plus. As it was not very warm we had it to ourselves and the lad in charge probably thought we were mad, but after the Forty Foot it was positively warm! The... More

This is a very comfortable hotel. The food is poor, but they do try. I liked this hotel, and it was a perfect stop on the Camino. More

Nothing wrong with this place, but it wasn’t anything special. It was relatively poor value for money (compared to other hotels along the camino), but more than adequate accommodation. The staff were efficient and friendly (a waitress in the restaurant was attentive to our children). Don’t eat dinner in the restaurant (especially the duck leg in honey sauce). Walk three... More

Nice location with swimming pool. Mainly used by walkers on the Camino. Nice and spacious room with good bath supplies. However, for aching bodies after walking 22 kms on the day, fixed dinner starting at 9 pm onwards is a bit of too much unflexibility. Dinner was truly horrible and slow service. Another disadvantage: only Spanish spoken, quite strange since... More

My friends and I stayed at the Pousada de Portomarin while walking the Camino. It provided a great place to crash and rest after a day of hot, tiring walking. The rooms are very large and the beds were comfortable. We had a view of the river, which was nice. A blocks walk will take you to the center of... More
