Stayed 5 nights late Sept-Oct, Nicely positioned just out of town but near enough to be convenient - 25 mins slow stroll from port (past all the posh shops!), 15 mins to Ponte the other way. Excellent, spotlessly clean room with view over the castle, no bath, just a shower - which was far better as it meant no wasted...

We stayed at the Hotel Ulisse in mid september for 8 days and we absolutely loved it. It's in a great location: it is close to the beach and the castle and 10 min easy walk to the port where all the ferries and buses go from and yet it is a quiet, peaceful place where you feel totally relaxed....

... and the least expensive. I don't know if we got a recently refurbished room, but it was immaculate and smelled new. View from the balcony was amazing. Staff was incredibly gracious and helpful.
