If you are looking for a roomy and clean hotel at a fair price, Residence Inn in Newport News would be my first choice. I have visited the area often and stayed in many different hotels in the area, but I found the one for all my future visits.
The room price was the same as the Courtyard next door but the room was huge and included a full kitchen, a fireplace and separate bedroom. The staff was particularly courteous and helpful when I need a place to eat. Breakfast was decent. I would recommend this place if you have business nearby.
Booked for two nights in a larger king bedroom and planning to use pullout for teenage daughter. Check in was seamless, did not ask for a credit card which I thought odd but no problem. The hotel was clean and quiet. The staff was friendly. Enjoyed my stay. The hotel was located close to the highway and on a directly off of 17. We had easy access shopping, restaurants, etc.

2 bedroom, 2 bath, living room and kitchen less than 200 dollars plus tax. Clean and modern. Near Williamsburg airport. We didn't hear the planes. If you are traveling with larger family or friends each could have separate bed and bath. I will definitely stay here again.

I was here on business and really enjoyed this hotel. The rooms were modern and very spacious. It was perfect having the kitchen, living area and dining area. If I am ever in the Newport News area again, I will definitely stay here again!

The location was right off of highway 64 which made it easy to get to. Best yet, even though the roaring traffic was right there, you couldn't hear any of it. I was hoping to be able to walk to more places from the hotel, but there really were not that many really close that I wanted to be walking...

This hotel offered a great military discount and the lady making our reservation was very nice. I loved that it is a pet friendly hotel AND that they go the extra mile cleaning the rooms after a pet has stayed to ensure others won't...

Very nice rooms, everything is modern and clean. We will probably be in this area annually for the next few years...we will definitely stay here!
We stayed here one night with our two boys, ages 2 and 4. We checked in early to take advantage of the nice indoor pool. For dinner there are a ton of options available nearby on Jefferson.
