We have just returned from a 2 night stay at La Baronnie, which I must admit to approaching with some trepidation having read some of the reviews here, particularly as we were with our three and a half year old son who can be rumbustious at times. Any fears I had were soon dispelled. The staff were charming and incredibly... More

I have to agree with other reviewers with regards the lack of graciousness shown by the proprietors. I have never stayed somewhere that made me feel so unwelcome that my family and I ended up spending as much time away from the place as possible. And those times we were there we felt like we had to creep around and... More

Dear Madam, First of all, we are really surprised of this kind of comment (received on March 1st 2012) from you as you have stayed a week with us (on April 25th 2011, for 6 nights!!). I don’t want to write a long message as you did and go through all the details you have mentioned; but according to us,... More

I arrived here unexpectedly without a reservation, and the housekeeper who did not speak English, was extremely gracious and forgiving of my French. She showed me two rooms that were available, I picked the garden room in the main house by the lounge and entranceway. The bathroom was only separate from the room, by a screen which seemed odd, yet everything... More

I had a difficult time getting to the hotel because the street signs do not seem current and they refer to a non-existent carpark. And once I got to the door, they were curiously slow to unlock and open the door and welcome me. I had to ask if they were a hotel, if they were open, and emphasize that... More

Spent a very relaxing five nights at this delightful B&B at Saint-Martin de Re. We treated ourselves to a luxury room - the Pavilon Princess. This was a lovely, quiet, white and tranquil building in the garden of Domaine du Bien-Etre. The room was spotless - clean and fresh with large, fluffy towels. The reception staff were particulalry helpful, sharing... More

Stayed one night in room Le Roy facing the rear garden and it was excellent and large. Bathroom is very small but for one night it sufficed. Welcome was friendly and most helpful although recent change to one-way streets made finding the hotel difficult - suggest follow the signs to the car park and then telephone at the gate. Breakfasts... More

I often use TripAdvisor but rarely post reviews as the combined impression of reviewers is often so spot on. After booking at the last minute, I felt a sense of dread reading some of the comments here. However we found our stay to be excellent and just what we were looking for. The location within St Martin is first class... More

We tried to book a room at La Baronnie but were told that the two houses are run as one hotel and could not choose where to stay. We had hoped for a nice room at one of the two beautiful houses advertised, but were put in a garden outbuilding of the Domaine du Bien-Etre, which was a fake, chi-chi... More

As the owner of Hotel La Baronnie Domaine du Bien-Être, I would like to respond to this comment. I clearly remember those guests. I know they were disappointed, but we never had any kind of argument with them as they only told us about their disappointment whilst paying the bill. Another family had rented a few rooms and asked for... More

A beautiful, welcoming and elegant stay. We had an amazingly bright, immaculate, large, well-appointed and comfortable room, the Loft, where we could relax in peace and enjoy the charming view. From there, a very short walk brings you to the pleasant, busy tourist center and harbor of the island to arrange outings, choose a restaurant, shop...or just feast on ice... More
