We were in the quad room in what looked like a converted barn. Woke to discover our bed crawling with bed bugs. Proprietor appeared unconcerned.

Hotel is only a short walk away from Gold beach and the museum of the largest Mulberry harbour. Some of the rooms have view of the sea and of some of the WWII wave breakers. They were also very understanding towards our two dogs.

As there were very few options left we booked this hotel for a couple of nights. If you're looking for a place to crash and head on it is fine. The owner tends to rush things and of you do not show up for breakfast before nine, someone bangs your door unasked for...

The location and the place are nice but really needs an UPDATE, they drop the price for us, for 55.00 euros it was OK not 75 euros like they announced it.good breakfast.

Surprised to be asked for money up front but understand the reason after first night as we would not have stayed another night if we had not paid. Terrible value for money: Rude host, grubby rooms with facilities back from stone age and paper thin walls. And before they ask for your name they ask for the money - in cash. The place advertises with pictures of the view over the bay in Arromanches which one cannot see from the hotel.

Stayed 4 nights. Wanted a hotel typically French with character and this met our requirements. Rooms were cleam albeit on the small side. Breakfast was good, although coffee was tto strong, tea and chocolate were avaialble. Staff spoke little English which added to the experience.
